What type of music is characteristic in Pakistan |
---|
When I talk about the different kinds of music that is played in Pakistan this includes the pop music and traditional classical music. So first we will learn about the classical music. Classical music is the spiritual and contemplative essence of the pakistan culture that Pakistan known for this is very well. Pakistani classical music is the traditional or art music. Most people are moved to pop music but traditional classical music is still the part of aesthetic of Pakistan classical music and this classical music is beyond all the other music.
When people listening to the classical music they are completely gone into it and feel the real essence of the music. People with old age are mostly addicted to the classical music and in most of the Punjab culture (Punjab is the province of Pakistan) in different fair called as mela. Here the most common is the qawali culture where people mostly listen to it. This comes in the sufism culture in Pakistan that is mostly related to the religious culture.
If I talk about the sufism culture in pakistan, pakistan is well known in it . The sufi singer Nusrat fathe ali khan is well known as a sufi singer in all over the world. There are mny other singer ustad bary ghulam ali khan , abida parveen are very well famous in sufism. This kind of pop music is played with the help of different instruments such as violin, drums ,strings, vocals etc.
Beauty of this music and why people are attracted towards it |
---|
Now a days people are mostly in search of relief, comfort and relaxing state, so this is the most important benefit of the sufism music is that it provides us with relaxation of our mind because of its spiritual awakening nature. The most important thing is that this music is beyond the culture of religion. Many religions including Hindus the people of india loves to listen this qawali music.
I also prefer to listen this qawali music whenever I am in sad mood or try to comes out of worries because it gives me relief in the time of anxiety. The most important and central factor in the development and maintenance of the Islamic music have been the sufism. Muslims who have heavily emphasize practice of inner purification known as tasawoff to rach the intimacy with God they often listen to the this sufism culture.
Similarities with other music |
---|
If we talk about the similarities among the sufism music culture with other music then we can say that there will be two categories on the base of instrumental analysis and other is singing songs lines or the theme of the music. The instrumental analysis have a lot of similarities among other music and in many case the background music which occurs in qawalii also played in western world music and there are many singers who also played background music with the most famous qawali singer known as Nusrut fathe ali khan.
Then other thing is the themes of the song that make our relationship with the God , so this can be compared with other religions music such as christan religious music that also made their great relationship with the God. But if we compare these songs with the modren era disco songs or other hip hop song then these are far different from these songs. In those songs like hip hop and disco songs these are not the spiritual songs instead these are only for this world and for those who loves to listen and enjoy gor short term of time.
