Urdu is a major Indo-European language and the official language of Pakistan. It is also widely spoken and understood in India, especially in the northern and central regions. Urdu is the result of a fusion of various languages, including Persian, Arabic, and Turkish, which makes it a rich and unique language in terms of vocabulary, grammar, and literary heritage.

Urdu has a long and rich literary history, with some of the greatest poets and writers of the Indian subcontinent having written in Urdu. From Ghalib to Faiz Ahmed Faiz, Urdu poetry and prose have had a profound impact on South Asian culture and literary traditions. Urdu is also the language of Bollywood film songs and has a strong influence on the musical culture of the region.

Born in Sialkot, Punjab, in 1877, Iqbal obtained a PhD in philosophy from Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich. His early poetry focused on the spiritual awakening and self-discovery, but later evolved to address political and social issues facing the Indian Muslim community. He is best known for his poems that express love for God and the longing for a deeper connection with the divine, as well as his political poems

Iqbal's poetry highlights the importance of individual action, self-awareness, and spiritual enlightenment in the path towards attaining a deeper connection with God. His poems often use rich imagery and metaphors to convey the beauty and majesty of the divine, as well as the human desire for transcendence. Many of his poems have been set to music and are still widely recited and sung in South Asia.

In addition to his literary work, Iqbal was also a political activist and leader. He was a strong advocate for the rights of Indian Muslims and was a member of the All India Muslim League, a political party that would later go on to demand the creation of Pakistan. His speeches and poetry helped to inspire the movement for a separate Muslim state and are considered an important part of the intellectual foundations of Pakistan.

Iqbal died in 1938, but his legacy lives on. He is widely regarded as one of the greatest poets in the Urdu language and is considered a national hero in Pakistan. His poems and ideas continue to inspire new generations and his political vision of a separate Muslim state in India continues to be a source of pride and inspiration for many Pakistanis.

Write about his popular poetry, books, lines, etc.

Iqbal is best known for his educational, philosophical, and political writings, which are considered a cornerstone of modern Islamic thought. Some of his most famous poems include "Lab Pe Aati Hai Dua Ban Ke Tamanna Meri," "Tere Ishq Ki Intaha Chahta Hoon," and "Bang-i-Dra."

His most famous collections of poetry include "Bang-i-Dra" (The Call of the Marching Bell), "Asrar-i Khudi" (Secrets of the Self), and "Zarb-i Kalim" (The Reed Finder's Reed). These collections have been widely translated into several languages and continue to be popular to this day.
