Good day to you all. As we all know, this post is in respect to the above contest. With that in mind, let's delve into my own participation to this contest.

I am a Nigerian by birth and have lived all my life in Nigeria, though I have gone on a couple of vacations outside Nigeria. My parents I from the Nigerian culture Igbo which automatically meaning of I am from that tribe. All my life I have watched, listened and also attended lifeband outings in the Igbo community which centres mainly on the type of music called highlife music. My dad is a huge promoter of highlife music. He had video and audio records which used to carry around but no longer does so, due to the inventions of smartphones. This brings me to my area of concentration, a Nigerian highlife maestro by the name Daniel Chukwuemeka Orji.

Daniel Chukwuemeka Orji popularly known as Dan orji was a Nigerian musician who based his music basically on highlife music from the igbo tribe. He was born on December 6, 1945 at Aro-Orji, Urata, in Owerri North local Government Area of Imo state in Nigeria. At a very young age, right from his primary school days which where at Orji Town primary school, he showed great talent in music which got him a couple of gigs at social events arround the capital city of Imo state which is Owerri. He went on with this feat throughout secondary education and was highly involved in the college band.

In 1970, when the Nigerian Civil War ended, he played a major role in the formation of the now defunct PEACOCKS INTERNATIONAL GUITAR BAND. It was while he was a part of this band that he produced some of his greatest hits that sold all over Africa but mostly in Ghana and his home country Nigeria. He had hits titled SAMBOLA MAMA, and many others. He ventured into music not for thr gains but for the love he had for it at that time.
