Hello Steemian friend's
How are you all? Hope thet you are all well by the grace of almighty. A few days ago I went to the railway station of my upazila town Parbatipur. Parbatipur railway station is one of the oldest stations. I am going to share with you some photography of this railway station and its history.
Parbatipur railway station was built during the British period. Train service started here from 1878. It is understood that this railway station is very old. It has a lot of British history.
Of the two images you can see above, the one on the right is Platform No. 1 and the one on the left is Platform No. 2. The roofs of these platforms were in a state of disrepair. These have been repaired a few days ago.
The two pictures you can see above are the junction of Parbatipur railway station. People pass through this junction. People use this path to get from one platform to another. This is a very big junction. And let me tell you one more thing. And that is this is the biggest railway junction in Bangladesh.
This is the upper part of the junction. People move through here. This junction was made during the construction of the station. This junction is made of iron.
Parbatipur railway junction is known all over the country as a major junction. This is the junction of 04 (four) lanes.
For example:
- Parbatipur - Dinajpur, Thakurgaon.
- Parbatipur - Nilphamari.
- Parbatipur - Rangpur, Lalmonirhat, Gaibandha, Dhaka.
- Parbatipur - Rajshahi, Khulna.
After I went to the station, I walked around for a while and took these pictures. Then I went to platform 3. There are several shops. All kinds of food are available in these shops. And the best thing that is available in these shops is the color tea.People who come to different places by train sit on the platform and wait for the train. At this time they enjoy tea from these shops.I see a lot of people there. They are sitting and waiting for the train. Then I go to a shop and have colored tea.
According to history, the 1.8 km long Hardinge Bridge was opened over the Padma in 1912. In 1926, the meter gauge section north of the bridge was converted to a broad gauge line. As a result, the Kolkata-Siliguri route was converted to broad gauge. With the partition of India and the loss of rail links outside Bangladesh, Parbatipur remains an important railway junction.
An important aspect of Parbatipur railway station is its railway police. There is a railway police station here. These railway police always maintain the law and order of the station.
The buildings at Parbatipur railway station are all made by the British. And that is why the walls of these buildings are red. It is really amazing to see these red buildings.
Parbatipur railway station is a beautiful place to visit. When you visit here, you can go back to the British period of 18th century. The beauty here will fascinate you.
So friends this was my blog today. Everyone will be fine and healthy. Thanks.
