Assalam-O-Alaikum & hello beautiful Steem family! I'm fine Alhamdulillah and I pray to God for your well-being. I pray that you all will always be happy, may Allah remove your worries and grant perfect health to the sick Aameen. First of all, I would like to thank @steem-travelers those who gave us the opportunity to share our traditional food with you all. I love cooking and today I am going to share the recipe with you all. It is considered a good season dish in our country. It's very easy to make so let's go towards the contest.

Traditional Food Pakora (Fritters)

Pakoda (fritters) is one of the most popular dishes in the Pakistan and Indian subcontinent. Popular in all parts of the subcontinent in various forms. Pakoda ”is a dish made of gram flour, onion, green chilies, green coriander, and spices which are eaten as a snack as well as a dish. Pakoda is mostly made and eaten in Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, and Nepal. There are different types of fritters like potato, spinach, eggplant, onion, green chili pakora (fritters). Fried pakoras are also made by mashing potatoes in bread and then dipped in gram flour. A dish called "Curry" is also made from fritters and it is eaten deliciously with rice. If you grew up in Pakistan or northern India, you know what pakoda is. It is an indigenous light food that can be found on every street corner whether it is cold or hot. Pakoda is popular street food, but it is also a commonly homemade dish in local homes.

- Ingredients

  • Gram flour 1 mug
  • Onion 2 medium (thinly sliced)
  • Green chili 4 large (chopped)
  • Green coriander leaves (chopped)
  • Coriander seeds 1 tsp
  • Red chili powder 1 tbs
  • Baking soda 1/4 tsp
  • Fenugreek leaves 3 tbs
  • Salt 1
  • Mustard oil (as needed for deep frying)
  • Water 3/4 cup

Method

First, put all ingredients in a bowl. Slowly add water and make a thick paste. Leave this mixture in the fridge for at least half an hour. Doing so will make the fritters more crispy and tender.

Put some water in the gram flour before frying the fritters. Remember not to pour too much water. So much so that the insert becomes a smooth mixture.

Now put mustard oil in a wok and heat it well. When the oil is well heated, turn low flame. Then with the help of a tablespoon put the balls into the oil.

Now fry the fritters on medium heat. When the fritters turn golden from one side, turn them over. When both sides are golden, remove from the oil.

Now enjoy fritters with ketchup.
