MY FIRST TRIP

Looking back on the places that I’ve been to in my life, I don't see myself ever forgetting some. My first of such trips go way back eight years (2013) but still fresh on my memories like a freshman in college. Speaking of college, it is a college memory, more reason why it's still fresh like it happened yesterday cause as a college kid you hardly forget your happy moments. It was a college sports trip from Bayelsa state to Akwa-Ibom state all in Nigeria. Oh yes! Hope I didn't disappoint you as I have never left the shores of Nigeria.

STARTING POINTING

As an indigene of Bayelsa, I've spent all my schooling years so far in Bayelsa and as a pro-unitate then (I.e a student of a federal government college), the federal government college games and invitational relay races is what we the sports lovers crave for. On that note, my journey started from Bayelsa. Onboarding the bus no one knew what the outcome would be, but for certain reasons we all were over-excited leaving the four walls of the school as we boarding students worshipped such moments and to some, it's compared to the joyous feeling of being released from a penitentiary. Lol!

THE ROUTE

For your sake, yes! you reading this article that was not on the bus with us, the journey is an inter-state journey starting from the "Glory of All Lands" (Bayelsa) through the "Garden city" of Port Harcourt (in Rivers State, "Treasure Base of the Nation") to the "Land of Promise" (Akwa-Ibom). Trust me, it is truly a land of promise.

THE DESTINATION

Federal Government Girls College, Ikot Ibio Itong, popularly known as FGGC 101. On getting to our destination, the night was already upon us. The next morning was the day of the race, and even as tired as we were, we were eager for the main race to start.

Like I earlier told you, it was truly the land of promise, cause as the relay race was about to start, I was selected as the second receiver of the Baton (the third runner) in the first of many races to come that year and even though I got injured during the race there was excitement in the air as we manage to better every other team's performance, even our noisy neighbours, thereby going home with the Gold, also the first of many Gold to follow that year.

You be the Judge, would you want to forget such memory?

I know I can't be here to write without you on the other end, I can never stop being appreciative of your great efforts. Thank you all for always making out time to go through my work. I can never say thank you enough. You are my real MVPs.
