Introduction

Hello everyone . It's your only hustler boy ronin with my second contest entry. In this contest I would would be introducing you to the park which I soo much wish to visit right here in Nigeria my home country. I would like to thank the organizers of this wonderful contest I hope you enjoy.
I also encourage @somtin01 @swaylee and @asilo to Participate in this contest.

Yankari National Park

The Yankari Game Reserve is a large wild-life park located in the south-central part of Bauchi State, in north-eastern part of Nigeria. It Houses an area of about 2,232 square kilometres (862 sq mi) and is home to numerous natural warm water springs, as well as a large variety of flora and fauna. Its location in the center of the West African savanna which makes it a special way for holidaymakers and tourists to experience wildlife in it's fullest.

History

The Northern Regional Committee made a suggestion to the Executive Council to substantiate a game reserve in the Bauchi Emirate in early 1934. This was Approved by Muhammadu Ngeleruma, an ex minister in the Nigeria Ministry of Natural Resources and Agriculture. By this time, he was impressed when he visited the Sudanese game reserve while on a vacation to East Africa. On returning, he encouraged the motive to establish something related in Nigeria.

In 1956, The Northern Nigeria Government approved the scheme for the establishment of a Game Preservation area. Yankari was declared as a region in the south of what was Bauchi Province where large numbers of wild animals could be protected And Live Peacefully. Later on In 1957, the Game Preservation area was issued out and it was Compose as the Bauchi Native Forest Reserve.

Flora

Flora this is a fancy way to reference the plant population of a particular habitat. The park and the nearby forest reserves have some of the best preserved and maintained ecosystem in the country. Dominant trees include Terminalia avicennioides, Isoberlinia doka and Detarium macrocarpum. Other common trees include Nauclea latifolia,Daniellia oliveri, Acacia, Parkia biglobosa, Prosopis africana, Lophira lanceolata and Isoberlinia tomentosa. The term fauna refers to animal population in a particular habitat. In Nigeria, there's a lot of animals you can find. Though Nigeria is not a popular wild life destination but it houses quite a large number of species of animals some which are native to Nigeria alone. You will find some of this native animals in the yankari national park. They are 60 mammal species, 180 species of birds, and 30 species of reptiles and amphibians have been recorded in the park.
Amongst the many animals include antelopes (roan, waterbuck, hartebeest and bushbuck), elephants, giraffes, baboons, hyenas, hippopotamuses, lions, leopards, and crocodiles. pictures of some animal in yankari park:

So visiting a place like this would be full of excitement.

Conclusion

Being a lover of nature and historical places I have always been fascinated about the Yankari National park in Nigeria. I hope that after my university I would take a break to visit it. Once again, I'm greaful for the organizers of this contest for giving me an opportunity to share my opinions. There is nothing better than accepting Grace.
