#Club5050 || BLANG KULAM: Twin Waterfalls in North Aceh

Aceh has many natural resources, but Aceh also has a lot of natural tourism potential. That is why many foreign tourists choose this province on the tip of Sumatra Island as their vacation destination. Although it is not as famous as Sabang Island for its beach tourism or Pulau Banyak Aceh singkil with the exoticism of its small islands, but almost every region in Aceh has natural tourist spots that are also very beautiful. One that is very much visited but is also still very natural is Blang Kulam Waterfall. Twin waterfalls that fall from a height of 75 M and are flanked by giant cliffs.

Blang Kulam Waterfall is located in Sido Mulyo Village. Administratively, Blang Kulam Waterfall is part of Kuta Makmur District, North Aceh. To get to the location of the waterfall which is about 54 KM from downtown Lhoksukon, it takes approximately 1.5 hours by motorized vehicle. However, the trip will save more time if tourists come from Lhokseumawe. From the city center of lhokseumawe it only takes approximately 3/4 hours with a travel distance of about 21 KM.

Although the Blang Kulam waterfall is still very natural, access to the location of the waterfall is very easy for tourists. Various types of motorized vehicles can be easily used to get to the location. The facilities needed in traveling activities are also available. Parking lots, prayer rooms, toilets, even for those who need a power source to just recharge their cellphones are also available. In addition, around the location of the waterfall there are also residents who sell food and drinks. For tourists who do not bring lunch, of course, this is good news.

The bad news, there is no waterfall that can be seen easily from the parking area. Except for the faint sound of water falling from a height behind the forest and big trees. Rome wasn't built overnight and there's no free lunch, right? Isn't it like something is missing when something extraordinary can be obtained so easily? Of course, all achievements will feel complete with struggle. About 100 steps must be descended and climbed to reach the waterfall.

Before the last step is passed, the river which is the place where the waterfall flows can be seen. The tourists who arrived first seemed to really enjoy playing with the water or having fun. Some gather with family or friends. Some are enjoying ready-to-eat food. some choose to prepare food while enjoying the atmosphere of the waterfall. There are also those who just enjoy coffee and spend their cigarettes in places where residents sell.

The clear water flows into the river. Small fish are seen eating the leftovers deliberately given by the tourists. On one side of the river, two large Waterfalls tumbled between giant cliffs. And the 100 steps that must be passed before are nothing compared to the amazing waterfall in front of the eyes.

Various kinds of details can not be forgotten just like that. Right below the falling waterfall, the river is in the form of a large pool as if it had been prepared by nature for tourists to swim or just soak. Next to the waterfall, a large rock can be used by tourists as a foothold to test their adrenaline. Usually several teenagers queue there to jump freely from a height of several tens of meters and plunge into the depths of the river. For those who have the guts, it's a very interesting activity to do over and over again.

The waterfall and every detail of the beauty that complements each other is simply gorgeous. Very felt and imprinted on the memory. The clear river, the water that falls a lot, the forest is green and very natural, the tourists, the happy aura on each tourist's face, the voices, everything. Very harmonious. It's as if everything is alive, also supporting each other. And the best way to be grateful for the opportunity to enjoy this beautiful nature is to praise God, the source of all beauty created on earth.
