Let me show you a glimpse of the South Eastern part of Mauritius, around Mahebourg - A beautiful coastal small town!
It's been days since I wanted to write this post...I actually went to the south eastern part of Mauritius a week back for food delivery and took that opportunity to roam around a bit...
And today I have the immense pleasure to show you a bit around that part of the island thanks to the photos I took around!
When driving to Mahebourg, which is about 25 minutes drive from my place and only 5 minutes away from the airport, you will see an amazing nature on both side of the road...
You will easily feel how the atmosphere changes from being in the center of the island and here on the coastal side...There are different trees planted everywhere and when in flower season, this place becomes even more magical!
Below is my favorite spot to stop and take photos...it is found just 2 minutes drive from the airport in the direction of Mahebourg! Nature is so beautiful, isn't it friends!?
Mahebourg Waterfront - The place to absolutely visit...
If you have a chance to visit Mauritius, then you have to make your best to come over at Mahebourg Waterfront and have a walk along the sea and the amazing sea breeze...
Monument in memory of lost lives at sea...
At the waterfront itself, you will also find this monument which has been erected back in 1899 in memory of French and English sailors who lost lives during an engagement off coast!
Beautiful fishing villages...
If you drive along the coast, then you will pass through different fishing villages and if you are there at the time where the fishermen are coming back from fishing, you get to buy some of the tastiest and cheapest fish and seafoods than anywhere else in Mauritius!
The airport is near too...
On my right is the only airport of the island and to reach Mahebourg, I have to pass by this road and I always enjoy this trip!!!
Without forgetting the famous and mysterious pyramids of Mauritius!
Still a mystery...we actually have 7 pyramids like this one scattered around this area!
Some say they were built by laborers while others say they hide secrets as we can find same structures in other parts of the world, specially in Tenerife, Spain!
There's a lot more to see in the South Eastern part of the island and I'll share some other day on another post! Stay tuned!
We have a lot of places around Mauritius with such amazing natural beauty and I love going to these places! Nature has always fascinated me...
This week I will be travelling around that region once again, most like this coming Saturday or if I have some time, I'll go tomorrow itself!
For sure I'll go to some other places around, take some photos and share with you all!
Until then...
Wish you a wonderful day/evening ahead!
Thanks for reading!

The beautiful there is truly breathtaking, development all the way to the shore...
Beautiful landscape with trees around the place. Your roads are also looking clean. It's a nice place. Please let's see the place again when the trees have flowers.
I also noticed that it seem you drive at the right side of the car. Over here the driver is at the left side And the gear leaver is controlled by his right hand which is more suitable for manual transmission cars that needs plenty of shifting.
