Introduction

Good day great people of traveling Community! I bring you greetings in the name of the Lord. I want to use this opportunity to appreciate the Almighty God for the gift of life.

For the past eleven months I have been on my national assignment in a strange land, a land that is known as green village far north in Taraba state.

The occupants of the land are mostly farmers, wood cutters and cattle rearers and they spend most of their time in theirs farm land, with their cattle or with cutting of timbers.

My national assignment is gradually winding up, as I have few days to spend in the land, so this afternoon I decided to make a trip to one of their market to buy some stuffs and to cut my hair. In the whole of that village there is no place where one could cut his hair, for you to cut your hair you would have to make a 10km journey on a bike.

The most interesting thing about this journey is that I went to trim my hair for #150(Nigeria currency) for the last time. Where I came from the price for cutting hair is far far more than the price used in the land, since my hair is due for cutting I wanted to enjoy their cheap service for the last time before leaving the land. Is not that the Nguroje market is that big, but because is the closest market to the village that why we go there.

The journey began smoothly, me, my colleague and the bike man carrying us to the market. We journeyed along the bad roads in the land, that is filled with stones, potholes and several hills that we have to climb.

Making a journey as little as the one I did is usually very interesting because you would see so many beautiful things on your way. As we journeyed we came across cattle that were resting beside cool water,

We equally saw beautiful vegetations, and some of their timber plantations.

The road from the village to the market is so bad that vehicle hardly use the road, it takes 30 minutes drive from the village road to the market road that is good, but throughout our journey we only came across few bikes on our way.

As we journeyed, we came across two check points on the market road, the first was the military check point where we found one Soldier who stopped us to check us,

and the second was their local check point.

As we journeyed we came across one location where mad people used to stay, you need to see how they designed the place with waste papers and made the place to look very odd.

We finally arrived at the market after some minutes, the occupants of the land are mostly Muslim so most of the shops were closed because today being Friday is their prayer day.

I went to the place where I used to cut my hair, but the barber refused to cut my hair because he was going for prayers, I had to locate another place,

where the barber took his time to give me a nice cut.

I equally went round the market to get traveling bag for my journey that would be very soon. My journey to the market was very stressful because the bike we used was not good, so we had to stop at several junctions to stretch our legs.

My trip to the market was so interesting, thanks for your time, till we see again.

Best Regards;

Woa! That is a wonderful experience of a life time especially serving your father's land in the NYSC. I want to believe you have created an impact on the life of the people and community where you serve in Taraba State.
The pictures are interesting. I hope you will bring some farming product back home to your people and steemit family. Have a nice stay in your remaining days as well as a wonderful journey back home.

Saludos y bendiciones.

Thank you very much
