Hello beautiful people of @Steem-Travelers. I hope we are all doing good. Its good to be here again to talk about Time travelling with my grandfather contest organised by @hive-111293, thank you for all you do in this community.

A portrait of my grandfather

I grew up to meet my maternal grandfather. My grandfather was a very handsome man, fair in complexion. He was a civil servant who took his work very serious. He was loved by his workers, and he was very kind to his junior workers.

He did not hate anybody, he loved people, he loved all his family, sadly, he lost his wife(my grandmother) at a point but his children's love kept him going. He always comes to the city from the village to visit us his grand-children. He was a funny man and didn't always come to visit empty handed.

He comes most times with a big fish since he stayed in a place that has a big river. He brings food items like plantain, yams, banana, oranges, etc. Most times he brings the fish alive and we get to use our big basin filled with water to put the fishes and watch them swim.

My grandfather will tell us stories which happened when we weren't born. He was a christian which takes part in almost all activities in the church. He could sing, he teaches us church songs and he teaches us how to give to others who don't have.

Its rather unfortunate that we lost him to the cold hands of death but his memories lives on.
