Hello steem travelers

I hope you are all doing well. Learn by travel 😋 okay this is the best travel community all over every social media. Why do I say that? Guys, I can travel around the world with just a click. There are so many quality photos and beautiful places. So don't you like to travel with me in my country? 😜😉

So It was a suddenly planned trip. During the corona pandemic, we had to stay at home. It was such a boring period. But fortunately, we could normalize and protect from this pandemic by self-protection methods. Nowadays we do our normal day-to-day life work with protection.

Well, lemme start with my trip. It was the first day after a long period of lockdown. So my boyfriend and I suddenly planned a trip for our mental health. ☹️😊 Because It was such a rural time for all of us.

We started our picnic at 9.00 Am and we arrived at Hummanaya at noon. It was my 3rd time visiting here. But It was the first time with my boyfriend. We traveled by his motorbike. I love to travel by bike. It was a little bit sunny day. There is an 83 km distance from Galle to Hummanaya.

Matara is one of the main cities on our journey. A beautiful city and so many places to visit.
There are a lot of temples in my country. As Buddhists, we worship in temples. DEWINUWARA RAJA MAHA VIHARAYA is one of my favorite places.

DEWINUWARA RAJA MAHA VIHARAYA

A beautiful place 4 ½ km from Matara, Sri Lanka. This temple is also named the “Girihel” temple. Devinuwara means the city of Gods. This temple was built by King Dapulsen.
Later, in the 16th century (1587), the temple and the old city of Dondra were destroyed by the Portuguese and rebuilt by King Rajasinghe II (1635 - 1687) of the Kandy Kingdom. The ruins of ancient temples which were destroyed by the Portuguese can be seen in the vicinity of the present temple premises.

We stayed here for a while. Because we had to go so far from here. We arrived there I think at 11 o'clock.

HUMMANAYA

The spirit is one of nature's most extraordinary creations. It is reported that this spirit in our country is the second largest of the blowholes in other places of the world. Hummanaya is a very rare location, with a unique geological location along the coast. This unique place is found on the main road from Matara to Tangalle, about 28 km from Matara and about 12 km from Dickwella. There are also parking facilities for buses and you have to walk a short distance through the fishing village. Along this road, you will find many small shops selling fish products such as dried fish. Anyone can buy those products at cheap prices.

According to the Census, there are about 5 types of world blowholes , but according to the latest foreign reports, there are about 7 spirits in the world. They are located in Japan, Thailand, Hawaii, Ohio, USA and Sri Lanka.

During the long monsoon seasons, it is amazing to see the waves become more active and the water rises to a height of about 50-60 feet in the sky. It is a place full of local and foreign tourists. This natural seawater is not always active. Once the water has risen, it takes a few minutes for it to reactivate. This is a unique natural process. How wonderful are beautiful creations by mother nature.

Do you know about this dress which I had dressed? It is called Osariya. This is the national dress of women in our country. Generally in our country public servant women wear sarie or osari. This dress is also worn on festive occasions. As a Lawyer by profession we dress the series or Osari. Osariya in Sinhala reflects the traditional greatness known today. Especially I think that you all know, this dress is very popular in South Asian countries. Especially in India.

Afterwards, we went to the beach. I love enjoing the beach. It was a little bit sunny day so I was tired. however we enjoyed so much.

MATARA PIGGON ISLAND

We left from hummanaya at 3.00 p.m. We stopped at Mathara piggons island on our way.
The Matara Beach Park is a beautiful spot, soothing to the weary human mind. This is such a beautiful island for pilgrims to visit as well as for tourists to see. Situated close to the shore, this island was once home to rock pigeons.

KOGGALA

This is another wonderful place on our journey. We saw a beautiful sunset at here.

The uniqueness of Kogala, which is known all over the world, is that all the four major modes of transport are located in one place. Koggala has inherited an airport, a railway, a highway, the sea and a large lagoon. Of the twenty-eight islands in the aquatic environment of the Koggala estuary, only a few are still surviving. The ostrich and the bird can also be seen in the distance.

During World War II the villagers of Koggala were evicted to build the airport and no house was left except the house of Martin Wickramasinghe.Martin Wickramasinghe? You may be wondering who this is. He is the turning point in our novel art. My language is Sinhala. He is the character who made a big difference in our literary art. He went to school for only two years and completed his education. He is also the greatest character in our novel art.
Koggala is also home to the only Hirugal Devalaya in Sri Lanka dedicated to the Sun God King at Koggala. it was.
