A travel story. A photo walk to the “Amar Ekushey Boi Mela 2022”

Every year In Bangladesh, a book fair is held. This book fair is called Ekushey Book Fair or Amar Ekushey Book Fair. But the name “Ekushey Boi mela” is popular in our country which is a bengali language. This is the national book fair of Bangladesh. Each year this book fair is arranged by Bangla Academy. The fair stays for a whole month. This book fair is dedicated to the martyrs who died in 21st February,1971 in the war named “Muktijoddhu”. This fair was first started kn 21st February 1972. It was arranged infront of Bangla Academy. From 1984, every year Bangla Academy arranged the book fair

I am a student of Daffodil International University. When I was admitted in this university, i also joined the photographic club of this university name “Daffodil International University Photographic Club(DIUPS)” becaus I have very much interest to capture various types of photos. On the last Ekushey Book Fair in 2022 our DIUPS organised a photo walk in the book fair and i had gone to the fair aith my friends and honourable club members.

The picture showed above is a picture of a book stall in Ekushey Book fair 2022. Their are various kinds of books such as poems,stories,detectives,nobles etc. Anyone can read any book from standing there as long as anoyone can. But nobody can lend a book from a stall. If anyone likes a book then he/she have to buy it from the shop.

This is a kind of book shell in a stall in the fair made of wood. This looks good and well organised. This kind of shells saves places for the shop and the shopkeeper can use those places to keep other books. On the other hand, shopkeepers can keep the same kinds of books in the shells so that they can find any book easily. This shells helps them a lot.

In this picture, a beautiful lady is reading. When she was reading the book I asked her if I could take a picture of her. First time she was shocked but when I said that I am a member of DIUPS and I’m on a photo walk fron the club then she allowed me to take photo of her and then I took a picture. I showed the picture to her and she was happy after seeing the picture.

Some Last Words

Lastly I want to say that the Ekushey book fair is very famous in our country. Also this is an educative place. We can buy books and learn many things from the books which will help us in our life from many ways. From you guys who are from Bangladesh,you must come to the fair at least 1 time,you won’t be disappointed and those who are not from Bangladesh, I have a request to you that if you ever visit Bangladesh and get a opportunity to visit Ekushey Boi Mela you must visit this book fair. You will be happy.
