"Bumphep Kuah Tuhee" | Contest; Traditional food from your country

It's great to be able to join the steem travelers community, and my pleasure increases when this community makes a contest which is one of my favorite parts. Therefore, I thank @hive-111293 for giving us steemit users the opportunity to explore one of the most important parts of a region and even a country, namely the "Traditional food from your region" contest.

This contest will further broaden our knowledge about the various local specialties and start cooking them at home with recipes that are distributed for free here. WowWowwww this is so much fun. And now let's look at one of my local specialties which tastes sweet and savory and now this food is rare.

Before I cook this dish, I must first prepare all the most important ingredients in cooking this particular dish. I have to pick banana leaves first and look for types of banana leaves to wrap the dish later which is located next to my own house. Alright, now let's prepare together...

Bumphep Kuah tuhe

  • Tools and Materials;
  • coconut
  • glutinous rice
  • banana
  • Shallot
  • Pandan leaves
  • sugar
  • salt to taste

Here are the steps for making it;

  • take two coconuts then grate until everything is done.

  • take the glutinous rice then wash and soak for 1 hour to make it softer and easier to stir

  • take a container and add the soaked glutinous rice then add coconut milk that has been filtered according to the amount of rice and add half a tablespoon of salt and sugar according to taste.

  • Also add pandan leaves to make it more fragrant and arouse your taste, and also add thinly sliced ​​red onion to make it feel more fat and the rice tastes more fragrant and savory.

  • Stir all the ingredients that have been poured into the sticky rice mixture then stir until thickened and leave to cool.

Now, after the pulut dough is ready, while waiting for the dough to cool, now let's prepare the banana leaves to make the triangular pulut that is the hallmark of this dish.

  1. Clean the banana leaf with a clean cloth from both front and back directions.
  2. Cut a palm-sized banana leaf into several pieces.
  3. Stack the banana leaves and cut off the ends of each.

After we get the size we want, it's time for us to make a triangular pulut that is easy to shape, you just need to twist the tip into a triangle, put the dough in the fold and close the end of the package using a dry stick so it doesn't open and break easily.

Well, after the pulut is ready it's ready to be steamed withmedium heat and tightly closed so that it is perfectly cooked, wait for 15 minutes, then the pulut is ready to be set aside.

To make the tuhee sauce as a companion to this dish later, we need to prepare coconut milk with added salt and sugar according to taste and don't forget to add pandan leaves to make it more fragrant and savory.

Tuhe Bumphet sauce is added with bananas so that it can be enjoyed with pulut which adds a sense of taste in the mouth when eating it. Don't forget to stir constantly so that the coconut milk doesn't break and when it's cooked, it's ready to be served with the pulut.

The typical food of the Aceh region is one that you must try when visiting Aceh. This Tuhee chutney also forms a symbolic equilateral triangle which means that an action will get its final reward and this is one of the foods served to the rulers of his time to reduce his anger, this can be felt when the sweetness touches the mouth as well as the heart.
