SANDBAR ADVENTURE IN SUMILON ISLAND, PHILIPPINES
Hello there steemian! How are you? I hope everyone is fine and well. Today I will share to you guys my summer 2021 when we went to Sumilon Island here in the Philippines. So let's go!
My country, the Philippines, has been known for its breathtaking beaches and Sumilon Island in Cebu, Philippines has been one of my favorite so far. Last May, we went to Sumilon Island here in Cebu and experienced the sandbar that has been its number one pride.
Oslob, Cebu is a 3-hours drive from the city and houses the Sumilon Island that is 30-minute boat ride from the Oslob proper. Incase you want to visit the island here is its map: https://w3w.co/lengthwise.introductions.glisten
From Oslob proper, we need to ride a boat going to the island. The back and forth pay for the ride could be around 500 pesos. We are very lucky at that time because the weather is on our side and Mr. Sun is shining so brightly and the seas are calm.
This is the whole island at a distance, truly majestic.
As you reach the island, you will be greeted immediately by their breathtaking sandbar. Fine-grained sand and crystal clear water is the thing that will make you say WOW. And the moment I saw the island's beauty, I immediately said to myself that this will become my favorite so far in all of my travels.
Here are some of our photos of its beauty, enjoy!
I also played with the waves. There are a lot of picture taken but I get swept by the strong waves in my back that is why I look like I am struggling in the photos hehe here are some of the bloopers
The waves are really strong and you cannot keep your balance even if you are only sitting. But look at those gorgeous waves.
After several takes, I finally took a decent and I think cute picture with the waves. Here are the pictures.
Overall, summer is my favorite time of the year next to Christmas season. Amidst the pandemic I still make sure that I can still explore various places in my country because life is short and there is so much in the world that you can see and experience. This can also make my mental health sane and keeps me alive.
International travel is still limited during these times that is why this makes us appreciate more our country's local tourists spot, but soon after this pandemic ends I will surely travel outside the Philippines.
How about you my friend, have you been to Sumilon Island here in the Philippines? If not yet, add this place to your travel list and you will never regret doing so.
Well, that's all for today. Thank you so much for reading my blog, 'till next time!
