This was a painter who was born in Caracas in 1889, member of a wealthy family, but who during most of his life had a series of mental disorders that made him go through depressive stages and at the same time he somehow became a very particular character, who could be an artistic genius and at the same time submerged in an imaginary world, his own world.

Reverón carried out his first studies in Venezuela and then, thanks to a scholarship, continued his activity in countries such as France and Spain, coinciding in his training with artists as important as Goya or Picasso's father.

From 1921 until his death he lived in a particular construction called El Castillete near the beaches of the Venezuelan coast with his partner Juanita Mota, in which he made a series of dolls with which he represented plays.

From the point of view of his work, the painter approached the religious theme, still lifes, the figure, the landscape, the self-portrait and the female nude, framed in periods in which his paintings were distinguished by the predominant color in these, from which they can be divided into: blue period, white period, sepia period at the end of his life his works were oriented to expressionism, as well as those objects that he elaborated as his dolls as well as the easels that he manufactured are considered as part of his artistic work, unfortunately the Castillete cannot be observed since it would be very interesting to be able to see it.
