Today in this post I would like to tell you about a place that impressed me a lot and that I was lucky enough to visit several months ago in Asolo, a beautiful village in the province of Treviso.
Of course, it is only possible to visit the outside garden of this villa because the interior rooms are inhabited.
However, this marvellous place belonged to Freya Stark, a great English traveller and writer who died here in Asolo in 1993 at the age of 100. She chose this place, which I will undoubtedly make a special post about, after her arduous travels in the Middle East.
The particularity of this park or garden that she herself cultivated was that it was transformed into a botanical garden as she transferred many essences collected on her travels here.
The park also contains the remains of an architectural complex, probably a Roman theatre, which has been the subject of many excavation campaigns by the University of Padua.
The place, which was restored in 2012 and is open to the public, is of course one of the many places to visit in Asolo because this beautiful village has attracted many artists from all over the world and is therefore a place where you can breathe in a lot of culture.
Until recently, this garden was frequented by a large number of cats that the artist herself loved so much.
I hope you enjoyed this post and the photos and I hope you will visit this place tomorrow.
