Hello friends, welcome back to Hotspot Italy. Yesterday I finally went for a walk in the mountains again after several months, a walk that wasn't too demanding, also because it had been a difficult few months, where I had to rest due to a knee problem, but fortunately I'm fine now.

I started from the car park of a small village, which is called Campofontana, and from there I proceeded in the direction of a refuge, because it was my intention to have lunch there and then go back I leave below the video I had shot some time ago of this small village.

Sorry for the quality of the video but it was one of the first videos I made where I explain that practically only 85 permanent residents live here.

However, coming back, my walk was somewhat complicated by the fact that it had rained in the following days and therefore a lot of grass had grown, which makes the walk even more challenging.

By the way, I was also afraid of catching rain, because the weather was not the best, but this way I was sure to find almost no one on the street, when I go walking I want to be very quiet and in the middle of nature, so I always try to go when there are no people around.

I also passed by a very characteristic faggetto, which is around here I have to go back to in the autumn because I think the colours are beautiful here.

I had hoped to encounter some wild animals to photograph, in these parts you can encounter many wolves but also a lot of deer, but instead I did not encounter any animals apart from in the final stretch where I managed to photograph a marmot, a very common animal in these parts.

In the end I was also lucky because then in the middle of the day the sun also came out and I arrived at the refuge.

I arrived quite late and the lunch service had practically already finished, but the manager was very kind as he prepared me some delicious sandwiches with a typical local sausage, and even offered me a beer which I drank with his company.

Here they are really very hospitable and you can see that they do it because they still love the mountains and those who frequent them also because managing these shelters is a bit of a lifestyle choice. You have to stay here for several months, detaching yourself from society.

I finished my lunch and headed for the road back and felt great after having had this experience, sometimes we humans really need to be in the midst of nature.
