Steem-Travelers Application for Community of the Month Support Program - October 2021.
Community Purpose
The travel community has enormous potential. Travel is one of the most frequently discussed topics on internet blogs. We decided to revive the Steem Travelers group because, at the moment, there is no travel group with more than 15 active users. The largest group of this type is travelers.io, which treats activity on steemit only as a supplement, focusing on their website.
Our task will be to attract travel bloggers, tourist-related businesses, and to activate current steemit users. In further plans, when the group reaches the appropriate size, we will try to find sponsors.
The group will be very original and will allow participants to earn STEEM in many ways, not only by gaining votes. The activity can be divided into four sectors:
1)Standard travel blogging and photo-sharing activity.
It will be stimulated by two contests per week as well as the selection of the top three/five posts each day.
2)Stay with travelers
This is the program that we intend to launch in October (10.10). Any active steemit user, with a reputation over 55, will be able to post an announcement with renting the room, whole flat, or bed for the steemit tourists. That activity will be similar to those offered by popular websites such as Airbnb, Misterbandb, or Couchsurfing. The rental will be for free or for a specified payment in STEEM / SBD. People who stay in such a location will be entitled to comment under the rental announcement post and score the host.
That way we are going to motivate people to use STEEM/SBD as the payment method. It will also integrate users of steemit more.
3)Work with travelers
This is another program that we will start in our community in the following month. It will be based on any websites with volunteering offers (examples of such websites are described here). Any active steemit user with a reputation of over 55 will be able to announce a temporary volunteer job offer. It will include up to 25 hours a week of work in exchange for accommodation. Additionally, the host can provide one or more meals daily and pocket money in STEEM.
Everyone who will volunteer will be able to write a comment under the post in which they express their opinion on the work and accommodation conditions.
4)Guide with travelers
In November we are going to introduce one more program. All users will get a chance to offer their services as a guide in their own city/region in exchange for STEEM or for free. The city tour plan may only include a guided walk or can be enriched by additional attractions, such as tasting local meals or a tango lesson in Buenos Aires
Community Team
We are just starting, we are reopening our group, so at the moment the team consists of two administrators - @papi.mati, responsible for the content in English and Polish, and @willeusz - checking posts in Spanish.
Administrators will use the community account to post all announcements and contests. They undertake to check all posts for plagiarism and comment on them to motivate users to continue writing.
Administrators will also spend some time each day welcoming newcomers to the Newcomers community and inviting those who are interested in traveling to join us.
At the moment, admins and potential future moderators will act pro bono, but in a situation where we receive any booming support, each moderator and admin will have one vote guaranteed to pay for their work. All the money gained by the curation account will be used to help the community grow by making power-ups and paying contest rewards. No money from the curation account will be withdrawn - it all stays on steemit.
Community Curation Account
All announcements and contests will be published from the community curation account, which is accessed by two people (both administrators). Our task is to get as much SP as possible to become an independent, large community able to reward all talented creators.
We intend to include a program that allows users to delegate SP in one click. We are going to suggest donating 10% of earnings from posts to the community. None of these actions will be mandatory but both will be encouraged.
For starters, @papi.mati has delegated 4000 SP to the community.
@papi.mati intends to systematically increase the SP delegated to the community. The delegated amount will depend on his earnings.
As the community was just founded, CSI has not yet been evaluated. For this application, we present the CSI voting of the main admin, @papi.mati. Today it is 31.2
Plagiarism & Abuse
We intend to check all posts for plagiarism using two websites: check-plagiarism.com and plagiarismdetector.net. Each post commented by the administrator will be marked as free from plagiarism, and if plagiarism is detected, it will be reported to @endingplagiarism and its author will be warned. Each user is entitled to one warning, and the second time fraud is committed, the user will be blocked.
The second factor that we will pay attention to is photos that should be published from appropriate sources. We will encourage users to share the photos made by them, but we will be accepting appropriately marked photos under a free Creative Commons license too.
Fighting fake accounts will be conducted through a verification system, which will include posting a link to achievement1 or the appropriate photo in the comment under the publication with the verification rules. The link to Achievement1 is to help verify people who do not share their face in the community, for example for religious reasons.
We do not have the sources to combat the duplicated accounts, because we don't know if two users who share the same IP are the family or one person who tries to cheat. The only way to avoid that situation is via the verification process. Besides that, certainly, in the case of repeating the same content, the consequences will be drawn in the same way as in the case of plagiarism.
Engagement & Commenting
Admins undertake to read and comment on each post in the community. As the community grows over time, our team will be expanded with a few more moderators to help with these activities.
Additionally, we intend to motivate users to interact by organizing a weekly contest for the best comment in our community. Thus, users will be more active, but the comments should not be spam, because the competition will not count their quantity, but quality.

Promotion
We both are travelers so the first step in our promotion will be to invite our traveling friends to join the platform and the community itself. We also intend to set up social media accounts and promote the group beyond steemit.
In November or December, when the Argentine borders open, we intend to expand the promotion with the campaign at various hostels throughout the city.
We will also be active on travel community groups and travel festivals, which we always visit anyway (this time we will do it with leaflets in hand).
In the longer term, we plan to organize offline meetings and advertise steemit and our group on blogs of the most popular travelers from several countries.
Anything Else
We will pay special attention to #steemexclusive content.
We know it's not common to give booming support to new communities that haven't gotten enough users yet, but if the team of steemcurator will trust us, support will surely help us to build a strong community in a short time and launch few additional projects faster.
We guarantee that we will dedicate a lot of time and effort to make the community grow. We are very sure that we can achieve success, we just need a small help in that.
