Mugla Yagcilar Han Excursion|| Club100
Hi friends, how are you? I hope you are very well?
There are many historical inns where I live. These inns, which have survived from the Ottoman period until today, have been used as trade centers. I will take you to visit an inn in the center of Muğla and built in the 19th century.
Yagcilar Han, located in Arasta, one of the oldest settlements of Muğla, was built during the Ottoman period and was known as a frequented spot for merchants.
When this inn was first built, as the name suggests, it was known as an inn where oil trade was made. The Aegean region is a region where olives and olive oil are abundant. That's why this inn was built entirely on the oil trade.
Consisting of shops gathered around a courtyard, this inn stands out with its stone walls and woodwork. It has been restored many times in the process until today.
Commercial activities continue in this inn, where a major restoration work was carried out by its last owner in 1990.
It is possible to come across many historical buildings around the inn. On the street where the inn is located, a monumental fountain built in honor of Mother Şemsi, who brings water to Muğla for the first time, welcomes us.
After passing the fountain, an 80-year-old plane tree welcomes us. The plane tree is under protection.
When we come to the entrance of the inn, we see the shops formed in the U-order. The wooden craftsmanship in the buildings to the right and left of the entrance is truly worth seeing.
When we enter the inn section, signs describing the history of this inn from the past to the present greet us. On these signs, it is explained by whom the inn has been operated since the day it was built and for what purpose it was built.
Just behind the signs, there is a huge plane tree where we can sit in the shade in summer.
When we enter inside, a small tea shop in the middle of the courtyard welcomes us. We can have our tea under the shade of the plane tree when we take a break while shopping in the city center.
Hand-woven carpets are another striking detail in the shops surrounding the inn. When you visit this inn, you can buy historical woven carpets.
There are many shops in the inn, we see that there are many shops such as computer, hairdresser, gift shop, electrician, advertiser.
When you visit Muğla, you can stop by here and enjoy the beauties of this historical building, you can collect good memories by buying souvenirs and hand-woven carpets from various shops.
That's all I'm going to tell you today, as a club100 member, I continue to share on the steemit platform.
Thank you for reading…
