Hello, friends of Steem-Travelers wherever you are, may you all be in good health and happy. Let me share a little story that might add insight to all of you, to get to know a habit and customs in the area where I live, namely Indonesia, especially aceh.
For those of us who are Muslims especially in aceh, there is a habit that is always lived into a custom that is attached to the community. It becomes a tradition that describes a sense of happiness in welcoming Islamic religious holidays, especially before the holy month of Ramadan and before the 2 major holidays for Muslims, namely Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha in Aceh. At the same time it is also a bond of togetherness always embrace the religion of Islam, to be able to share and also welcome it together the month of the big day.
The tradition is the tradition MEUGANG, the local community more often refers to it by the term MAKMEUGANG. Makmeugang itself is a habit of the local community that is carried out two days in a row before entering the month of Ramadan, Meugang ubit ( meugang small ) and meugang rayeuk ( meugang large ), also carried out the day before eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha. Namely the habit of cutting animals that are halal in eating, but cows, goats and chicken to be cooked and served for families and neighbors. Not infrequently for government institutions and also people who have excess prices will donate the animals to be slaughtered and distributed to underprivileged or poor communities. And the history of this tradition does aim to distribute the best halal animal meat, to be distributed to the poor, as a form of sharing food that is rarely eaten by the underprivileged.
On that day almost all people in Aceh will cook dishes made from beef, goat and chicken. To then eat with their beloved family, sometimes people who have a lot of money will cook the meat and then distribute it to the poor in their respective areas. This tradition was originally carried out during the Aceh government, still again during the leadership of Sultan Iskandar Muda, a sultan of Aceh who was very successful at that time. He cut animals in large quantities, to be given or distributed to them for free to all his people, without having to pay the slightest bit. Meugang tradition continues to be maintained until now, which has benefits and also a sense of togetherness as a Muslim.
For now, if the month of Ramadan or three days before Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha, then markets throughout Aceh will be filled by butchers. Be it beef, goat meat or chicken. This Meugang tradition has become a hereditary tradi that continues to be preserved by the indigenous and local people of Aceh. To be able to share and feel together the halal animals that are sometimes rare to eat, it is because on the day usually the meat of this animal has a fairly expensive price to buy. In addition, this tradition became a place for the rich to give to their underprivileged or poor brothers.
Actually there are still many things or unique traditions in our country Indonesia, which is almost the same as those in the Aceh area. But the Matmeugah tradition in Aceh is a very famous halal animal slaughter tradition, which is something that is awaited by the Acehnese community. Moreover, ahead of the month of Ramadan and ahead of Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha.
After reading a little information about the habits and one of the traditions in my area, namely Aceh, how in the country or the area of steem-travelers. Is there something unique and probably almost the same as the Matmeugang tradition in my area. I'm so happy to hear it, even more so it will add to my insight into something unique in your country.

Es dificil no poder consumir proteinas. Las proteinas son esenciales para nuestra salud. Me encantó ver muchas personas unidas en la preparación de la carne y alimentos para los desprotegidos. Es una tradición que deben velar porque se siga manteniendo. Pienso que mientra haya esa unión muchos más podrán ser favorecidos.
Las personas siempre serán mejores en la medida en que piensen en los demás. La humanidad no debemos perderla jamás. Hoy tenemos, mañana tal vez no. Debemos dejar huella en el mundo dando esperanza que aún hay humanidad. Los felicito por tan gradiosa tradición.
