| В этом году в Подмосковье большой урожай яблок. Об этом я слышу от коллег и друзей, у которых есть дачи с яблонями. Однако, я живу в городе, у меня нет своего сада. Но и в городских условиях я могла наблюдать обилие яблок на ветках. Яблоки, правда, в основном декоративные. Яркие плоды на них очень красиво смотрятся в эти осенние дни. | This year in the Moscow region there is a large harvest of apples. I hear about this from colleagues and friends who have summer cottages with apple trees. However, I live in a city, I do not have my own garden. But even in urban conditions, I could observe the abundance of apples on the branches. Apples, however, are mostly decorative. Bright fruits look very beautiful on them these autumn days. |
| Это деревце, буквально усыпанное небольшими красными яблочками, растёт в центре Москвы недалеко от Новой Третьяковки. Смотирте, какие красивые яблоки. | This tree, literally covered with small red apples, grows in the center of Moscow near the New Tretyakov Gallery. Look how beautiful the apples are. |

| А вот в этих яблоках я долгое время не узнавала яблоки. Настолько они маленькие, не больше 1 см в диаметре. Но интернет мне в помощь. Оказалось, что это ягодная (или сибирская) яблоня (лат. Malus baccata). Это было моё очередное ботаническое открытие, сделанное во взрослом возрасте. | But in these apples I did not recognize apples for a long time. They are so small, no more than 1 cm in diameter. But Internet to help me. It turned out to be a Siberian crab apple tree (Latin Malus baccata). This was my next botanical discovery, made as an adult. |

| Те, кто её посадил, ответственно отнеслись к своему делу. На стволе закрплен ярлычок с назанием сорта. Яблоня «Ред обелиск». I have never heard about the Siberian crab apple - thank you for teaching me something new!
Apple trees brings me back to my home in Poland. I love that plant - the smell of the apples, the taste of it, the shape of the trees... All is so lovely.

Oh, the famous Polish apple orchards. :)
Before politicians started playing with sanctions and embargoes, we always bought Polish apples in stores.
Yeah, politicians like to mess.
I remember that after the embargo we had too many apples in the country and they were given for free to the customers in shops and gas stations just to distribute it somehow... in that year people also started to drink cider, before not so famous in Poland.
