If you are someone who likes to visit historical and cultural places and finds Greek mythology interesting, this article is for you. 🌺 I will participate in this beautiful competition organized by the dear #steem-travelers community about the trip to ancient places with my trip to the ancient city of Olympos in Antalya, the city where I live. Thank you to everyone who participated in the competition. 🤗

The ancient city of Olympos, which I visited last year, is located in the Olympos-Bey Mountains National Park, 28 km away from the Kumluca district of Antalya. You can come here with your own vehicle or with the bus companies that organize tours. Those who want to go by private car mostly use the Kemer road route. I went with the organized tour. I had a very enjoyable journey by watching the green and nature along the way. Thousands of tourists visit Olympos every year. Very nice bungolow houses have been built for visitors to stay. A very nice and comfortable environment is provided for those who want to stay. You can stay in these comfortable houses in nature and experience the peace to the fullest.

When you go to Olympos, a lush nature welcomes you. There are also breeding grounds of Caretta Caretta turtles here. This holiday village tree houses, which are preferred by backpackers, also have open areas that can be used as tents. The city is like a hidden paradise in the lush nature. Entry is paid. When I went, the entrance fee was around 35 TL. Since I have my museum card, I didn't pay any fees. If you go now, you can find the opportunity to visit this beautiful ancient city for 40TL.

Based on the Lycian Union Coins, this ancient city, which was one of the most important port cities of its period and whose establishment date is unknown, dates back to approximately BC. In other sources, it is mentioned that it was founded in 168-167 years, in 300 BC. The Olympos Stream, which divides the city into two, passes through it.A large part of the historical artifacts in this ancient city, also known as the city of the gods, belong to the Roman, Byzantine and Hellenistic periods, and most of them are located in the forest.

When you come here, you can find green and blue together. You can both smell the texture of history and swim in the clear blue sea. On the South side of the creek that divides the Olympus in two, there is the southern necropolis, the al keltis sarcophagus, the theater bath and the city walls, and on the North side there are the monumental tombs of the northern necropolis, the port mausoleums and the Genoese Castle. The Genoese castle is located on a steep slope in the mountainous part of the Olympos beach. Roman commander Servilius Isauricus heroically defended the Ancient City of Olympos, cleared it of pirates and added it to Roman territory.

Bellerophon falls in love with the king's wife. Realizing this, the king tries to remove Bellerophon from the kingdom by giving various tasks. Bellerophon catches the flying horse Pegasus with the help of the goddess Athena. Strikes the Chimera in the mouth with a lead-tipped spear. The lead melts in the Chimera's blazing mouth and kills the beast. Iobates orders Bellerophon to fight the savage, warlike Solymi (Termessian) tribe as a second mission. Bellerophon, who succeeds in this task, is then given the task of fighting the Amazons. Bellerophon successfully completes this task, but Bellerophon is trapped on the way back to Lycia, where he succeeds in surviving, whereupon Lobates rewards Bellerophone by giving half of his kingdom and one of his daughters.

Another version of the legend tells that Bellerophone flew with Pegasus to the gates of heaven, and Pegasus threw it over her in front of the gate. Bellerophone falls to the earth and begins to wander the earth alone, as the gods despise her and do not help her at all.

While I was visiting this historically textured ancient city, I got very immersed in both the fascinating atmosphere of the forest and the mystical atmosphere of history.

Eğer tarihi ve kültürel yerleri gezmeyi seven, yunan mitolojisini ilginç bulan biriyseniz bu yazım tam size göre. 🌺 Sevgili #steem-travelers topluluğunun antik yerler gezisi hakkında düzenlemiş olduğu bu güzel yarışmaya yaşadığım il olan Antalya da bulunan antik Olimpos Kenti gezim ile katılacağım. Yarışmada emeği geçen herkese teşekkür ederim. 🤗

Geçen yıl ziyaret ettiğim Olympos Antik Kenti Antalya'nın Kumluca ilçesinin 28 km uzağında Olympos-Bey Dağları Milli Parkının içinde yer almaktadır. Buraya ister kendi aracınızla ister turlar düzenleyen otobüs firmaları ile gelebilirsiniz. Özel araç ile gitmek isteyenler daha çok Kemer yolu güzergahını kullanıyor. Ben düzenlenen tur ile gitmiştim. Yol boyunca yeşili ve doğayı izleyerek çok keyifli bir yolculuk geçirdim. Olimpos'u her yıl binlerce turist ziyaret etmekte. Ziyaretçilerin kalması için çok güzel bungolov evler yapılmış. Kalmak isteyenler için çok güzel ve rahat bir ortam sağlanmış. Doğa içerisindeki bu rahat evlerde kalıp huzuru sonuna kadar yaşayabilirsiniz.

Olimposa gittiğiniz zaman yemyeşil bir doğa karşılıyor sizi. Burada aynı zamanda Caretta Caretta kaplumbağalarının yavrulama alanları d bulunmaktadır. Sırt çantalı öğrencilerin tercih ettiği bu tatil köyü ağaç evleri, çadır mekanı olarak kullanılabilecek açık alanlara da sahip. Kent yemyeşil doğanın içerisinde kalmış saklı bir cennet gibi. Girişler ücretli. Ben gittiğimde giriş ücreti 35 TL civarındaydı. Benim müze kartım olduğu için ücret ödemedim. Şu anda giderseniz 40TL karşılığında bu güzel antik kenti gezme fırsatı bulabilirsiniz.

Döneminin en önemli liman kentlerinden olan ve kuruluş tarihi net olarak bilinmeyen bu antik kentin Likya Birlik Sikkelerinden yola çıkarak yaklaşık M.Ö. 168-167 yıllarında kurulduğu başka kaynaklarda ise milattan önce 300 yıllarında kurulduğundan bahsedilmektedir. Kenti ortasından ikiye bölen Olimpos çayı geçmektedir. Tanrılar kenti olarak da bilinen bu antik kentte bulunan tarihi eserlerin büyük bir bölümü Roma Bizans ve Helenistik dönemlerine ait olup çok büyük bir kısmı orman içerisinde yer almaktadır.

Buraya geldiğinizde yeşille maviyi bir arada bulabilirsiniz. Hem tarihin dokusunu koklayıp hem de tertemiz masmavi denizinde yüzebilirsiniz. Olimposu ikiye bölen çayın Güney yakasında güney nekropolü, al keltis lahdi, tiyatro hamam ve surlar ile Kuzey Yakası'nda Kuzey nekropolü anıtsal mezarlar Liman anıt mezarları ve Ceneviz Kalesi bulunmaktadır. Ceneviz kalesi Olimpos kumsalının dağlık kısmında dik yamaçta bulunmaktadır. Roma komutanı Servilius Isauricus Antik Kent Olympos’u kahramanca savunarak korsanlardan temizlemiş ve Roma topraklarına katmıştır.

Bu antik kent hakkında birçok efsaneden bahsediliyor. Bunlardan birisi de;Likya krallığını kurtaran güçlü Chimera canavarını öldüren Bellerophon isimli Yunan kahramanı hakkındaki efsnelerdir. Yunan kralı Bellerophon'a çeşitli görevler verir. Bellerophon tanrıça Athena’nın yardımıyla uçan at Pegasus’u yakalar. Kurşun uçlu bir mızrakla Chimera’yı ağzından vurur. Kurşun, Chimera’nın alevler saçan ağzında erir ve canavarı öldürür. Iobates, Bellerophon’a ikinci görev olarak vahşi, savaşçı Solymi (Termessian) kabilesiyle savaşmasını emreder. Bu görevi de başaran Bellerophon’a, daha sonra da Amazon’larla savaşması görevi verilir. Bellerophon bu görevi de başarıyla tamamlar ancak Bellerophon, Likya’ya dönüş yolunda tuzağa düşürülür, buradan da sağ çıkmayı Başarır bunun üzerine Lobates Bellerophone’a krallığının yarısına ve kızlarından birini vererek ödüllendirir.

Efsanenin başka bir versiyonu, Bellerophone’nun Pegasus’la cennetin kapılarına kadar uçtuğunu, kapının önünde Pegasus’un onu üzerinden attığını anlatır. Bellerophone, yeryüzüne kadar düşer ve tanrılar onu horgörüp hiç yardım etmedikleri için yeryüzünde yapayalnız dolaşmaya başlar.

Ben bu tarihi dokulu antik kenti gezerken hem ormanın büyüleyici havasına hem de tarihin o mistik havasına kendimi çok kaptırdım.
