Italy. Milan. Milan Cathedral. Duomo di Milano
Milan is located in the northern part of Italy and is a global city. It is the administrative center of the Lombardy region. Milan is one of the centers of World fashion, a trendsetter city. This city attracts a lot of tourists with this. People go to outlets to buy fashionable clothes at great discounts.
But it wasn't always like that. Italy is a country where almost every square meter is filled with history. Milan was founded in the VI-V centuries BC by Gauls, Celts or Franks. Different sources name different histories of the foundation of the city.
I visited this city in December 2017, on Christmas Eve. Of course, I was amazed by the Milan Cathedral. It is one of the majestic Catholic cathedrals of Italy and the World. This cathedral is also called the Cathedral of the Nativity of the Virgin Mary. The construction of the Cathedral was started in 1386 and it can be said that it continues to this day. I was on the roof of this Cathedral and saw that its modernization was continuing.
A description of this monumental Cathedral can be found on Wikipedia. There is a detailed description of the number of statues, the number of needles pointing to the sky, the height, width, and capacity of the Cathedral.
I was under the Cathedral itself. It turns out that there was a sanctuary at this place back in the days of Ancient Rome - the old octagonal baptistery, which was built in 355 but was destroyed in 1560.
This Cathedral is history itself! In this cathedral, there is a nail with which Jesus Christ was nailed to the cross..
And imagine friends, crowds of tourists, many of whom simply do not care about all this ancient history. They're just hanging out here, taking selfies.
I would like to add that the security of this Cathedral is set at the highest level. It is forbidden to bring even any liquids inside. At the entrance, an inspection is carried out by carabinieri and the military. These are serious guys, they are always on guard.
Friends, if you have the opportunity to visit this city, then do not even hesitate, go. There are a lot of interesting places there that cannot be shown in one photo unless you make a collage.

В Италии был 2 раза. Самое главное - знание языка, английского. Кстати, в Италии много русскоязычных. По одну сторону этого Собора была организована ярмарка рождественская, я там сыр приобретал. Вполне по-русски девушка общалась. :) Ну и у семейства итальянцев взял большой кусок Пармиджано Реджано.
В гостишке в ресторане тоже девушка была с Украины.
В Пиццерии недалеко от площади официанты с разными языками. И, конечно, есть на нашем на русском.
Проезд по деньгам и проживание - вполне наши же расценки. От Кирова до Калининграда на самолете почти в 2 раза цена больше, чем от Москвы до Милана была.
из Кирова прямой самолет до Калининграда летом был 22 тысяч и более.
Мы до Милана летали на Победе за 12к
вот какие цены сейчас, может летом ажиотаж был, все из Кирова ломанулись в Калининград, сказав - нафиг нам Милан, чего мы там не видели? ✈
о, черт... я посмотрел. и правда есть в расписании и цены такие. Афигеть. Надо подумать.
такс, без резких движений.. лучшее время это межсезонье, апрель-май или сентябрь-октябрь, цены на билеты и проживание минимальные, туристов мало, дождей минимум, так что есть время подумать и взвесить ⚖
понял. а вот действующее расписание, возможно с такими ценами действует по март какой-то. :)
В Италии жена брата живёт, а в Украину приезжает лечиться!)))
Да, много из Украины там.
У жены сестра двоюродная жила и работала на Запорожье, потом уехала в Италию. Теперь там у неё свой маленький бизнес - швейная мастерская.
You've made a nice and detailed entry @pnigrich, what is the reason for such an highest level of security.?
It is necessary to protect various artifacts from vandals. So as not to damage statues, paintings. I had plates in my bag that I bought at a fair near the Cathedral, but they were forbidden to bring them inside.
