The Temple of Heaven in China

Greetings to my favorite Steem-Travelers community. It's been a while since I've written about travel. Today I want to tell you about an amazing place in China called the Temple of Heaven.

This is not just a temple, but a whole complex with a huge territory.

One part of it symbolizes the sky and it is semicircular, the second part is a symbol of the Earth and it is square. The temple is old, it was built in 1420.

The building which you see in the photo is called the Harvest Temple. From year to year, people asked for fertility and a good harvest.

It was a sacred ritual that only emperors were allowed to perform, because the emperor was the link between heaven and Earth.

Ordinary people could not enter this temple, but now there are lots of people in the temple.

A wall is built around the temple. It is built on a special technology: all the words that you pronounce here are very clearly audible even at a long distance and that is why this place is called the Talking wall.

Since I am engaged in music it was especially interesting for me to see a building called the Council of Heavenly Music.

Temple music was taught here, and now there is an exhibition of ancient Chinese instruments in this building, but unfortunately it was not allowed to take pictures there.

In general, on my arrival in Beijing it was very hot, about 40 degrees Celsius and it was not very comfortable to move around the huge territory of the complex.

Many tourists even preferred to stay in a hotel, but it was very interesting for me to get acquainted with Chinese culture. It is so unusual, so even the sweltering heat did not prevent me from admiring this beautiful complex.
