The Great Wall of China

Greetings to my favorite Steem-Travelers community! Today I want to tell you about an amazing structure : the Great Wall of China.

There probably isn't a person in the world who hasn't heard about it. And when you see it, you are really impressed, because the wall is huge, there is no end to it. As far as I know, the length of the wall is more than 8 thousand kilometers. It's hard for the brain to imagine that, can it really be so?

In the entire history of China, the wall has never been attacked successfully. People started to build The Great Wall of China in the 3rd century BC, it is said that at that time more than a million people participated in its construction at the same time.

However, the wall became a tourist attraction only in 1957, but only a small segment of about 50 kilometers was opened for tourists.

Every year athletes from all over the world come here to take part in the marathon, isn't it unusual?

And people also say that the Great Wall of China can be seen even from the Moon, but of course this is only a myth.

When we arrived, the weather was cloudy and foggy, and part of the wall was hidden under a veil of fog, it looked very unususal. There are always a lot of people here, thousands of people. I don't like crowded places, but it was impossible not to come here, because this is a chance to see a great building.

The wall is under UNESCO protection, some parts of the wall are badly destroyed and merge with the natural landscape.

Going up and down the stairs of the wall is not easy. The descent is complicated by the fact that all the steps are of different height, it is quite uncomfortable for the legs. But it is necessary to go up and down, it's such a memory!
