Never mind. I typed the URL in wrong. It's steemitwallet.com lol. I just went to steemwallet.com and found that it's not working. In fact there's a redirect there to buy the domain now. We need some posts for the technically deficient among us to continue with the witness voting or this whole battle is over.
I recommend using @steempeak with keychain. All the wallet functions are built in and it's a joy to use.
we are also developing a new system that works nicely for mobile. (Aka we're already testing it)
The interface on mobile is pretty good.
