The EPA is Covering Up Chemical Hazards in East Palestine (Part 2)

in Informationwar2 months ago

I found this obscure documentary on YouTube. Scott Smith has been testing samples from the area since the train derailment happened and the only one who has tested samples from air filters in the interior of houses in the area. Unlike the EPA and Norfolk Southern’s paid consultant, Smith also took his soil samples from the surface instead of 6 inches below the surface.

The EPA was not only one of the stakeholders that decided to burn the vinyl chloride tanks that released the dioxins, along with the fire chief and their Ohio counterpart, they also buried the dioxin test results carried out by Norfolk Southern’s consultant Arcadis beginning on February 9th. They found dioxins concentrations of 92 parts per trillion on February 17th, 19x higher than the residential screening level. Smith found soil dioxin concentrations of 1,900 parts per trillion IN Salem, OH which is 17 miles Northwest of East Palestine. This is well above the “safe” level of 1,000 parts per trillion the EPA set in 1989. The EPA has not disputed his findings but disagrees with interpretation of it.
