The Galle Lighthouse, also known as the Pointe de Galle Light, is a historic lighthouse located in Galle, a coastal city in southern Sri Lanka. Built in 1939, the lighthouse stands at the southernmost point of the Galle Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The structure is a white cylindrical tower with a red lantern room and has played a crucial role in guiding ships along the busy sea routes around the island. The Galle Lighthouse is not only a functional maritime aid but also a picturesque landmark that adds to the charm of the Galle Fort, attracting visitors with its rich history and panoramic views of the Indian Ocean.
