in CCS9 months ago

Hello and Namste my dear friends, This is my entry for CCS CONTEST |YOUR FAVORITE FESTIVAL, Organised by, @pathanapsana 🇮🇳 CCS

Our country India🇮🇳 is a country of multi-religion and cultural heritage, in our country Hindus, Muslims, Sikhs, Christians, Jains, Buddhists all celebrate their own festivals with joy, and also wholeheartedly accept the festivals of other religions.

WHICH IS YOUR FAVORITE FESTIVAL?

One of festival of Hindus is Diwali which is celebrated happily by all the citizens of our country. That's why this "Diwali" is my favorite festival.

WHEN IS YOUR FAVORITE FESTIVAL CELEBRATED?

According to Indian culture, this festival is celebrated every year on the new moon day of Kartika month of the old calendar of India, in 2023 this date will fall on Sunday, 12th November 2023.

Although every Diwali is a state holiday in our country, but this time if this festival is celebrated on a Sunday, then a holiday will be given before or after it.

HOW DO YOU CELEBRATE YOUR FAVORITE FESTIVAL?

To know the answer to this question, it is first necessary to know why it is celebrated. People all over India celebrate this festival to commemorate Lord Rama's victory over Ravana after 14 years of exile, i.e. the victory of truth over untruth, after the marriage of his wife Sita.

And he returned to his kingdom Ayodhya with brother Lakshman, that is why this happiness is celebrated in the entire country.

Also, on this festival we worship our Goddess Lakshmi to honor Ganesha who is the goddess of wealth. In our country it is believed that by worshiping Lakshmi Ganesha, the house will be blessed with wealth throughout the year.

And that is why to celebrate this happiness, people clean their houses thoroughly every year, buy new clothes, put new plaster on their houses, buy lots of sweets and fruits.

On the night of Diwali, people light lamps in their homes and decorate their homes and business establishments with electric chandeliers. Crackers, sparklers, and many other fireworks. People all over the country believe in this with joy.

Toran [door decoration] is made outside the house for the arrival of Goddess Lakshmi [i.e. the goddess of wealth].

HOW DO YOU PREPARE DISHES ON YOUR FAVORITE FESTIVAL?

In our country, there is a mixture of different food habits and cultures in different provinces, hence everyone brings home various sweets, biscuits, dry fruits, Gunjhaya, salted Pare as per their culture and food habits.

some of these sweets are prepared at home by the women themselves. According to our tradition, Goddess Lakshmi, Ganesh ji is worshiped with rice kheel and sugar batashe and the whole family eats it as Prasad.

On the day of Diwali, there is a custom in our society to give gifts to each other and distribute sweets.
