Today I'm sharing my visit to Kalam one of the beautiful hill place of Pakistans for this contest . This travel blog will give you virtual visit of Kalam to enjoy natural beauty of this place or if you are going to plan to visit this place will help to get some useful information about this place. I visited there 6months before so the price or cost that I shared would be different from today's rate.

Kalam Valley is the most famous place to visit in Swat. Kalam has stunning lakes, high mountains, picturesque valleys, lush forests and other natural attractions. These natural wonders make Kalam the most beautiful place on anyone's bucket list when in Swaat.

This valley is at altitude of 2000 meter, it's weather is fresh n cold. It's high mountains are covered with snow. It's overall beautiful and weather leave fresh memories in mind for log time. I visited there in June at that time maximum temperature was 17°C and minimum was 6 °C. In winters temperature goes down to - 11°C.

The peak time to visit this place is June, July and November, December. Many tourists visit this place in these months so you may get higher charges in these months. If you don't have any issues in vacation than I recommend visit in March, April or September, October you will enjoy your trip in less expense. The hotel room that you get in 8000pkr in peak season,can get in 2500pkr in out of peak season. If you want to capture real beauty of the kalam you must visit in summer then you can enjoy riverside, waterfall, greenery of valley and forests.

There are many famous beautiful place at Kalam to visit like Kalam Town, Ushu Forest, Matalan, Kalam Summer Festival, Janshai Meadows, Matiltan Waterfall, Blue Water Point,
Mahodand Lake, Utrar, Gabral, Green Top Kalam View Point, Kandol Lake, Izmis Lake, Shahi Ground, Dhamaka Lake etc. Some of these from above points I missed to visit due to less time.

Ushu Forest

It is a lush green forest and a great place for camping. You can get camps on rent too. To reach this point we rented a land cruiser. The roads are not proper so cars can't be move safely on those roads. I enjoyed the greenery. I visited jungle first time in life. We didn't go inside the jungle. If you are traveling with group of friends you will surely enjoy camping there.

Kalam Town

It's a beautiful point of Kalam. You can find many hotels at this place to enjoy it's greenery. I visited many different places during my trip but this was most peaceful and pleasant for me. My husband was willing to spend all vacation at kalam.

Mohodand lake

Mohodand lake is another famous and beautiful place to visit. I love it's quietness. You can enjoy only by sitting beside lake for hours. You can enjoy boating, horse riding and swings at lake. Near lake many local restaurants they are selling fresh fried fish from the lake.

Utrar

It's another wonderful picnic spot approx 16km from kalam. You can enjoy a day long picnic at this place having view of snow caped mountain at 2200 altitude, flowing stream, cold water, fresh air. When you visit kalam must go Utrar and it's surrounding places.

Gabral

It's another mesmerizing natural beauty. It's only few km from Utrar and road to the Gabral is smooth so you can reach there without fear. I recommend you to visit this place too.

Dhamaka Lake

After few kilometers from Ushu forest this lake starts, I love this point most. A blue water lake of cold water flowing through mountain to valley. Extremely beautiful view can be captured from this point. The first two pictures of post are also from this point.

At many places stream are flowing and connecting to lakes. The water of these streams are crystal clear and cold, you can drink it. These are some beautiful picnic spots at kalam & you can enjoy nature's beauty

Local Cousin of Kalam :

Kalam Valley is situated in khaber pakhtoon khwah where people eats health food having less spices. Special foods of this place are karhai, polao, Chappli kabab, Tikka (chicken green Tikka and Mutton Tikka), Namkeen gosht etc. I tried many local food but I love namkeen gosht (salty meat) and Tikka (BBQ) most.
