Get to know Dutch colonial history when they entered Indonesia

in CCS3 days ago

Hi all my beloved steemit friends, how are you all, I hope you are always healthy, okay?
In this meeting I want to tell you about the history of the Dutch East Indies entry into Indonesia, at that time the Dutch entered Indonesia in various fields, namely trade, politics and wanting to look for spices in Indonesia, the Dutch came to the archipelago in in 1956, which at that time was led by Corbelis de Houtman.

At that time, CORNELIS DE HOUTMAN was not at all interested in Indonesia, but because he saw the fertility that existed in Indonesia, he became increasingly interested in controlling Indonesia. Cornelis first arrived in Banten province with his members and troops to look for spices. spices, and also when he came to Indonesia he had a very big impact, one of which was the monopoly of trade and the emergence of government in Indonesia. Dutch rule in Indonesia could be said to have been quite long because of the cruel politics of fighting against each other because of that cruelty made frequent major wars between Indonesia and the Dutch East Indies in the archipelago.

One of the efforts made by the Dutch to fight over Indonesia was with the existence of van mook, namely federal politics, the aim of which was to establish a governmental state in Indonesia so that the territory of the archipelago was divided, not only that, the Dutch also made conditions for citizens. the Indonesian state which caused losses and harm to the Indonesian people, one of the Dutch regulations which caused losses was the policy of the leadership of General Deanleas, namely that there were 3 regulations, the first was to require indigenous products from the people or local residents and then hand them over to the Dutch government as tax payments, the second was to require Indonesian produce is sold to the Dutch government at a predetermined price. The third is that the people in West Java must grow coffee for the Dutch government and the fourth is to sell indigenous land to foreigners.

However, with the occurrence of Dutch rule, many Indonesian people also had difficulties in carrying out their lives. The Dutch have also occupied the Indonesian peninsula for around 350 years. The post above describes the existence of Dutch rule in Indonesia.

However, not only did the Dutch enter Indonesian territory, Japan was also one of the countries that wanted to invade Indonesia, but Japan itself did not occupy Indonesia for long, for more than 3 years. Japan occupied and colonized Indonesian territory, but Japanese colonialism was more terrible than military colonization. The difference between the Dutch is that when the Dutch ordered them to do forced labor, the Dutch people still gave food to the Indonesian people who were ordered to do forced labor. This is different from the Japanese who ordered Indonesian people to do forced labor without being given any food. That's what made the difference between the Dutch and the Japanese.

The photo above shows Indonesian people's resistance to colonialism because Indonesians don't want their country to continue to be colonized by foreign countries.
At that time perhaps the Indonesian people did not have heavy weapons but resistance was still carried out whether it was against the Dutch or against the Japanese, the Indonesian people's weapons at that time only used sharpened BAMBOO which made great resistance against the invaders and provinces which could not be defeated. Aceh was only entered by a foreign country when the colonial country had succeeded in controlling the entire archipelago, Aceh was the only region that had not been successfully colonized by the Dutch or Japanese.
I tell this history based on existing facts and history that I know, but actually there are many more stories that I haven't covered because if we discuss everything, it's not enough to make one article, so I just cut it up to share with friends in Steemit. can know about the history of Indonesia being colonized by foreign countries.
Remember, it's all just history, so don't use it as a behavior to start conflict, make it all a lesson for us to produce a bright and innovative future.
Maybe that's the end of my discussion about the history of Indonesia, hopefully this story can be useful for steemit friends, see you in my next post, bye..bye....♥️
