Let's go on a virtual tour of an awesome museum today - the Dali Theatre-Museum. It's in the artist Salvador Dalí's hometown, Figueres, just about an hour and a half by train from Barcelona. It's crazy how many people visit Barcelona and miss out on this gem. I promise, you're gonna remember it for life! 💥

So, this Dali Theatre-Museum in Figueres, it's like one of Salvador Dalí's last big things. They opened it up in 1974, and the coolest part is that the man himself was all in on designing and building this place. He wanted it to be a legacy for his hometown. They even used the old remains of a theater that got wrecked during the Civil War to build it. 💣

When you visit the Dalí Museum, you can actually see the theater's original structure, but it's been completely transformed to meet the museum's needs. It's decked out in surrealistic artwork from the great artist himself in every nook and cranny. You can spot this artwork from the outside. It adorns the striking burgundy building, where you'll also notice the eye-catching and oversized egg shapes on the moldings. The massive glass dome, a true icon of the museum, is impossible to miss.💯

They've recreated one of Dalí's most famous paintings, 'Mae West Face' (1934), as part of the decor here. It's absolutely stunning, and you won't want to miss it!

The woman's lips take the form of a red sofa, curtains serve as her hair, and Mei's eyes represent two paintings, while the silhouette of a nose graces the fireplace.

You'll come across rows of golden faceless mannequins that might remind you of the iconic Academy Award statues. High above, there's a boat dripping thick blue liquid, and below it, a portly lady standing atop a sleek black car.

Among the array of artworks on display, you'll encounter a rich diversity, including paintings, drawings, sculptures, engravings, installations, holograms, stereoscopies, and even a luxurious vintage Cadillac. 🧐

The Hallucinogenic Toreador (1969-1970)

This painting is dedicated to his wife. Gala is depicted in the upper left part, with her serious, firm expression that can be interpreted as a vivid representation of her strong aversion to bullfighting. 💗

I stumbled upon those groovy disco flamingos by sneaking a peek through a tiny crack in the wall. Who would've thought such a sight awaits))) But in a museum of this kind, you can bet on discovering all kinds of zany and imaginative concepts.

In 1982, King Juan Carlos honored Dalí with the title of Marquis of Pubol. Dalí passed away on January 23, 1989, due to heart failure. His final resting place is the crypt within his museum.

The whole place is a riot of colors and eclecticism, catering to all tastes, even if you're not much of an art 🎨 😍
