First, let's learn the history of the temple. Wat Tha Mai was founded in 1989 by Phra Phiksu Yod Upatissa from Wat Nong Phan Thao, Kanchanaburi Province. He came to develop the Phothithammarang Monastery (Tha Mai) by purchasing land in Ban Kong Si Long, Tambon Tha Mai, Amphoe Krathum Baen, Samut Sakhon Province. Devotees also donated additional land. Wat Tha Mai received permission from the Department of Religious Affairs to build a temple on November 1, 1977. At present, there have been 3 abbots.

ก่อนอื่นเรามารู้ประวัติของวัดกันก่อน วัดท่าไม้ ก่อตั้งเมื่อปี พ.ศ. 2532 โดยพระภิกษุยอด อุปติสฺโส จากวัดหนองพันท้าว จังหวัดกาญจนบุรี เข้ามาพัฒนาสำนักสงฆ์โพธิธรรมรังษ์ (ท่าไม้) โดยได้ซื้อที่ดินบริเวณบ้านกงสีล้ง ตำบลท่าไม้ อำเภอกระทุ่มแบน จังหวัดสมุทรสาคร และมีผู้ศรัทธาบริจาคที่ดินเพิ่มเติม โดยวัดท่าไม้ได้รับอนุญาตจากกรมการศาสนาเพื่ออนุญาตสร้างวัด ในวันที่ 1 พฤศจิกายน พ.ศ. 2520 ปัจจุบันมีเจ้าอาวาสมาแล้ว 3 รูป
