Contest || Macro Photography Challenge: The Dung Beetle

in CCS2 years ago (edited)

Hello, greetings to everyone @ccs community, I am really pleased to be a part of the macro photography contest in the community.

Macro photography involves the act of taking photos of smaller objects or living things to appear larger than they are in real life. Macro photography makes details of the little object or insect in this case to be seen.

The insect I have today is the Dung beetle. This beetle is a species of beetle that eats animal dungs. Humans cringe when they see dungs from animals, but these beetles are happy at the sight of food (dungs). They tunnel down the ground, or manures looking for animal dungs.

They mostly look for dungs from herbivores animals especially elephants and cows. Dung beetles roll this animal dungs into balls and then move it to anyplace they want to. The sight of the rolling can be amazing, it can carry a dung twice its size.

The dung beetles are special beetles because they keep the environment clean of animals dungs thereby reducing flies. These beetles also lay their eggs into the dungs, so their eggs will hatch to see food (dungs) which they will eat. So it was practically amazing to see all this with my camera.

All pictures were snapped and edited using my Redmi 10c. Reasons for editing was to make the pictures look good, due to the dungs in the picture.

Macro pictures are always amazing cos it gives us a closer look of the insects we think are very tiny.

Thanks for going through my post
I invite @imohmitch, @davidmarkgeorge and @brightoekeh to participate.
