Here we see some flowers of the Santan plant which I photographed yesterday using my Smartphone. I can't place it anywhere else but only on the air vent of the non-functioning A/C of the car which we are using so I can have a better shot of it suing the Macro lens of my phone and so i came up with a bunch of photos which I tried to get the closest possible shots of the already mature flowers as well as the bunch of the still unopened flowers. This variety of the Santan plant produces red flowers although someone can call them deep orange or crimson but many people would call it red. The only difference was the type and quality of the camera you will use, its added features, and the light source which can turn red into even like a maroon-colored hues.
The already opened flowers are already falling from their base and the pistil part of the flower had already withered and dried-up, the "flowerettes" had already matured while some are not yet opening to show their beauty for us to enjoy looking at its glorious beauty. This plant is the shrub which are also planted in my primary school grounds but our former school has the yellow variety from which I would sometimes pluck a few flowers to suck some of the nectars that the tubular stem of the petals are producing. The taste of the nectar is indeed sweet but you just have to get many flowers to get some half a thimbleful of those sweet juice. Sometimes butterflies would visit the flowers to siphon-out the nectars and maybe sometimes they happened to pollinate some of the flowers because I was lucky enough to get s fruit from it a long time ago which has a fleshy and juicy rind and a big seed inside it. It was a rare occasion that it produces a single fruit out from a bunch of Santan shrubs but in that instance that I discovered the fruit I was not able to taste if the fruit is sweet or not.
