Bridge Over Troubled Water #club100steemCreated with Sketch.

Hey Fam! Look where I went now!

Yoho National Park is located on the Trans Canada HWY just west of Banff National Park. Yoho is home to many wonders, not least of which is the natural bridge.

The strong glacier fed waters of the Kicking Horse River have carved a hole under a shelf of hard limestone.

Notice the milky white water? The reason the water is this colour is due to the presence of "glacial flour". Glacial flour is tiny sediment that is smaller than a grain of sand. Apparently, glaciers have ground bedrock into fine sediment, and as they melt, this sediment flows away down the milk coloured rivers. Sometimes, when the sun illuminates the glacial flour, the water can appear blue or green.

Despite many signs warning people to stay behind the barriers, there were foolhardy individuals that jumped over the fence to walk across the bridge. I can't imagine what would happen if they slipped and fell. They would die for sure as the water is moving extremely fast and travelling underground.

Would you want to be swept under this rock to drown? Not me!

Not only is the water super cold, and super fast, but this was once a large waterfall. Anyone who falls in will probably experience shock from the cold, then, if they do not get their head bashed in on the rocks, they are sure to be dragged down to the base of the waterfall. It wouldn't be a good time.

Do you like to live on the edge? I don't haha!
