India is considered a country of festivals. Festivals of different religions are celebrated here, which are celebrated with great pomp. Our Lucknow is famous for Ganga Jamuna culture. The splendor of every festival can be seen here and cultural programs add charm to these festivals. Every festival has its own story, which everyone is excited to know.

My favorite festival is Holi which is celebrated with great pomp. This festival is considered to promote brotherhood. In this, people forget the grudges against each other and start their friendship on this day and give another chance to their relationship. On this festival, people forget all the fights and feed each other sweets and hug each other.

This is a festival of colors. In this festival, Abir Gulal is blown and there is rain of happiness and colors all around. In this festival children pour water on each other from Pichkari. Even the elders forget all their worries and sorrows and have fun dancing with each other.

Holi festival is celebrated in the month of Phagun. Chhoti Holi is celebrated a day before the playing of colors on this festival. In which wood is kept at the crossroads and burnt at night and everyone worships.

Women, men and children all take the ferry (round) and here everyone prays to God that everyone should live together and all the troubles get eradicated from their lives. All people takes a sugarcane. All children and adults eagerly wait for this festival celebrated in the month of Phagun.

We celebrate our favorite festivals with colors and with Pichkaris. Everyone is very excited. Holi songs are played early in the morning and children and everyone wake up and apply cream on their entire body to avoid any adverse effect of colors on the skin. So that the colors on the screen do not get harmed, most of us use organic gulal.

Be it any festival, safety should be taken care of first. Because along with enjoyment, safety is also very important and we keep telling this to children that the color should be applied in such a way that it does not enter anyone's eyes. These days we have to carry a lot of water. The tank has to be filled because the children do not obey and use too much water. It is a one day festival, so we too do not say anything to the children today.

Many types of dishes are prepared on the festival of Holi. The main dish of Holi is Gujiya, which is liked by everyone. It is made by filling khoya. Apart from this, Khasta, Shakarpare, Mathri and especially Thandai are made. Thandai is considered to be the main beverage on Holi. Thandai looks very tasty. I also make it at home, I have a mixer for Thandai.

A big fair is organized here in the evening on the color day. Everyone comes there to visit that fair. Here, swings for children, food items and household items and sports toys are available for purchase. Many types of Gujiyas are available in the market these days. Like syrup gujiya, dry gujiya, baked gujiya, sugar free gujiya etc.

I like home made Gujiya more and enjoy it hot too, it is soft and melts in the mouth, the taste of dry fruits is amazing. In this way, we celebrate Holi by eating Gujiya with colors.
