Orange Salticidae
Orange Salticidae
Spiders are a type of insect that is found everywhere. There are more than 6,000 species of spiders in the world and 13 percent of them are Salticidae or jumping spiders. The life of the Salticidae is very different from ordinary spiders, the Salticidae have a small and cute body shape, it is also almost impossible for jumping spiders to build webs other than those used in reproductive activities. When hunting prey, jumping spiders do not build webs but use their silk for tethering which makes it easier for them to reach prey that is difficult to reach.
The Salticidae have a special characteristic that ordinary spiders do not have, all jumping spiders have four pairs of eyes. One pair of eyes that is noticeably larger in particular makes up the large median anterior eyes of jumping spiders. The large anterior eyes provide very clear three-dimensional vision, making it very easy to estimate range and direction which makes it easier to direct jumps when hunting prey. And the four eyes in the back row are usually used for lateral vision.
