This is another good topic for the week. It will literally give us time to express our thoughts and gratitude for this one person we find worthy to be our celebrity crush. Someone, we love what they do, and their life endeavors have been tailored to our aspirations.

Who is your celebrity crush

I am not too much of an extrovert, and moreover, most of the social media types no longer drive my fantasies anymore except for a few moments of idling away. Notwithstanding, each time the word celebrity is mentioned, I have just only one person whose thoughts come to my head which is one of the finest in the movie industry (Nollywood).

She is no other person but Mercy Johnson Okojie. A smart, talented screen diva of our time. She's a film director and producer and a great actress to measure up with. Born on the 28th day of August 1984 to the family of a naval officer Daniel & Elizabeth Johnson. She was seen to have transitioned her education in Criss River, Rivers, and Lagos states respectively due to the transfer obligation of the father's job.

Mercy Johnson is the 4th child of her parents in a family size of 6 children. Just as coincidence may have it, she got married to the love of her life in the same birth month and even on her birthday (27th August 2011) to Prince Odianosen Okojie. This great couple now has four (4) children.

Not forgetting, she a from a Kogi state which is in the north-central region of the country but is now married to a man from the south-south region of the country (Edo state).

Give the reasons why are you impressed by him/her

She has so many records of films to her title which brought her to the limelight most of us now celebrate. She started her first auditioning after her college days for a role in the movie titled the maid. And other acted roles in movies like Hustlers, Baby Oku in America, and War in the Palace. These roles completely launched her into the hearts of many.

Everyone would testify to her prowess in the scene as she now became a household name everyone looked forward to seeing in a movie. At this time, we all knew the producers made fortune out of her appearances in movies as well her accounts.

She was decent in her roles, not the regular type of actress that needed to go nude for fame and roles. So humble and has a loyal personality but with a large mouth to keep you entertained. I can remember close scenarios at some company events where she entertained and anchored an event as MC, she was really exquisite.

Sometime in the last quarter of 2013, she was banned from other actors in the industry for being too expensive in the industry, she made that bold step in apologizing to the industry authorities and hence the ban was lifted. Her raising profile as a celebrity does not change her personality. A real diva to the core.

Give details of his/her popularity in the respective field

In the year 2009, Mercy Johnson won an award as the Best Supporting Actress at the prestigious African Moview Award (AMM) ceremony for her distinguished performance in a role she played in a movie named "Live to Remember".

Another astonishing one was her role in the movie Dumebi the Dirty Girl. This was the breaking of the ice. This singular movie gave all the highs required and publicity required in the movie industry. She won an award in this regard as the Best Actress_Comedy at the 2013 African Magic Viewers Choice Awards.

Not, to say the least, she was recognized and listed as the Google Most searched Nigeria Celebrity between 2011 and 2012 consecutively. That showed some levels of advancement and growth to showcase her relevance in the country and the entire African populace.

I can remember accepting a political appointment in her state of origin as a Senior Special Assistant to the state governor on Entertainment, arts, and culture. These and many more are some of her key achievements.

I will really want to commend you for the good deeds you've planted in the Nigerian entertainment industry. You have done so well that your name is written on gold. But for me, I will want a situation where this fit is sustained without contradiction.

Politics is good, but the kind of politics we play in our dear country is one that can either make it mare you completely. Your fame and status in society can take you anywhere and get you all you needed without any form of limitation. Trade consciously while venturing into politics.

Let your political affiliation be that which would bring hope, succor, and better governance to the ordinary people of the country rather than politics of affiliation with politicians that mare the people.

For your recent health issues rumored all over the social handles of a possible cancer scare, thank you for your positive clarification on the matter.

We crush on people or individuals we feel have impacted us in a special way even without having close contact with and hence adore them for the significance they deserve from us.
