Who is a principal?

A principal is a person who heads or is in control of a school. He overseas the day to day activities of the school and smooth running of the school. The principal manages and controls the school making sure that everything is in order and by arrangement.

If I were to be a principal
I will shape a vision of academic success for all students and improve the level of instructions in my school by creating a climate hospitable to education as well as cultivating leadership in students and others.

If I were a principal, I would be dedicated to my work and encourage discipline and hard work among teachers and students.

What would you do for the growth of your school in academics?

I will contribute to the growth of my school by creating coaching opportunities. These coaching opportunities will be in the form of
sponsoring and organising clubs in school, like debate club, ICT club, mathematics club and news club etc.
I will also organise after schools tutoring and remedial classes for students who do not meet up with others.
I will employ teachers based on their area of specialities. What do I mean?
Some school principals do employ a teacher who didn't read mathematics as a course in the university to teach mathematics in school. Such a teacher will not perform well in class, and the students will not derive optimum benefits from the lesson and, as such, affect the growth of the students now and in the future.
I will employ qualified and well seasoned teachers with a wealth knowledge of teaching experiences.

What tips would you give to the teachers regarding the maintenance ofdisciplinee?

First of all, I will encourage the teachers to know the school guidelines for discipline procedures.

They should not reward disruptive behaviour with attention. Instead, they should reward good behaviour.

I will encourage them to be fair, positive, consistent in their work, and keep their classroom in an orderly manner.
They should have a list of standards and consequences, if possible give the list to parents and students.

Do you think sports should be promoted at school level? What would you want to do to encourage the sports boys/girls in your school?

Pupils during sport

Sport is very important in school and it should be encouraged and promoted.
Some schools set aside one hour for sporting activities. The one hour is split between two days of the week, that is, Wednesdays and Fridays.
Aside from the weekly sport activities, most schools also have what is called inter house sport competition, and this is done once in school session.

During this Inter-house sports competition, students will display their talents in different areas of sport.

What do you do to provide the easy atmosphere for students to learn? (Behavior of teachers with students).

To provide an easy atmosphere for students, I will build positive relationships with students and parents, foster student connections by increasing engagement, and establishing a caring classroom culture.
I will outline classroom rules for positive behaviour and also use positive reinforcement to enhance learning.

I will create a comfortable physical environment by making the classroom to be colourful with drawings and positive messages for students.

This is my principal, she has been a principal for over ten years now in my school.

The principal

This is my school principal. She is an effective principal, focused, and attentive. She is always prepared to deal with whatever situations that arise in the school, be it complaints from parents, disputes among teachers, and also faces the ministry of education in my state. She disarmed most difficult situations in school by simply showing care and willingness to hear them out.
She is committed to her work, she is accountable, maintaining orderliness, and has a set goal to achieve in each academic year.
She developed a strong relationship among teachers and treated us like professionals.

Conclusion

Being a principal of a school is not an easy task but with hardwork and determination along with some set goals, one can successfully scale through as a principal. I will like to be a school principal one day and I am ready to exhibit all the good qualities of a principal and explore more opportunities to develop the life of the students in my school.
