Some mis concepts regarding the fasting in Ramadan?

Fasting is a holy act. I fast for the pleasure of Allah but we have some wrong idea about fasting. Which spoils the intention of fasting. So I am presenting some misconceptions before you.

  • Brushing teeth breaks down quickly :Almost many people think that brushing teeth with paste while fasting breaks the fast and brushing teeth never breaks the fast. When in doubt about using the paste, he recommends using a toothpick or miswak made from a tree branch.

  • Saliva entering the mouth will break the fast : There is no basis for the belief that if saliva enters the stomach from the mouth, the fast is broken. A person's discharge of saliva is a very normal bodily function and does not break the fast. On the contrary, Islam encourages the consumption of saliva during fasting

  • Fasting is accepted only if one does not eat anything : Fasting is not just about fasting. So, fasting means simply not eating. Rather than eating, many other behavior's can spoil your fast.

  • Fasting is broken even if something is eaten carelessly : If eaten by mistake, the fast will be valid. However, you must stop eating as soon as you experience this.

  • Do not take any medicine during fasting : Some medicines can be used on an empty stomach. E.g., eye drops, ear drops, injections. However, the medicine to be taken orally cannot be taken during fasting. Should be taken before Sehri or after Iftar.

My favorite Sehar and Iftar recipe.

During the fasting month of Ramadan, Muslims from all parts of the world observe moderation by eating Sehri in the early morning and abstaining from food throughout the day. Rice is the food that every household in Bangladesh consumes as Sehri. And any curry is eaten with rice. In other words, anything like rice is the first choice of everyone mainly as sehri. Besides, if you want to change your diet, then you eat different foods as a Sehri. But my favorite Sehri recipe is any light and healthy food. But I usually eat rice in the morning. And I like the recipe of vegetables with rice. Because this food is rich in fiber which will give me energy all day.

In addition, dates, jilapi, onions, beguni, chickpeas, muri, chop, haleem, biryani, sherbet and various delicious foods including meat kebabs are essential ingredients in the Iftar of Bangladesh. Sugarcane molasses sorbet, various fruits and fruit juices, spice sorbet mixed with different colors are used as drinks by many people at Iftar. But among them, my favorite recipe is dates & Haleem. Haleem is cooked with dal and beef. Which is very delicious to eat.

Some tips to maintain our mental and physical health in Ramadan.

After fasting for the whole day we should take care of our physical and moral health. As we should worship Allah, we should keep our body and mind healthy. I have presented before you some tips for our physical and mental health in Ramadan.

  • Choose activities that require less physical effort, but are rewarding For example, walk for half an hour at regular intervals. This can be the best thing to do to protect health in Ramadan.

  • Remember that even if you are physically perfect, fasting in Ramadan may weaken your body a bit. And so make a menu of nutritious food to maintain health in Ramadan.

  • Do Sehri regularly to protect health in Ramadan. If sugary food is more than non-vegetarian food in Sehri, you will get necessary nutrition for the whole day. Don't overeat. Drink sufficient amount of water.

  • Better not drink tea or coffee. This can cause dehydration. Drink cold drinks instead of tea and coffee.

  • Water is not an option. Drink at least 8 glasses of water before going to sleep, to avoid dehydration.

  • After iftar, you can go outside for 15-20 minutes’ walk.
