Why are CBN's Afraid of Blockchain and Decentrialized Currency?

Cruuency regulation is one of the key functions of the Central Banks. They like to keep track of your buying and spending habits. In contries like Nigeria, the banks are agents for agencies like EFCC and others who place a close check on citizens buying and spending habits, the volume and value of their transactions and te currencies that individual citizens performs this transactions.

So, the mention of decentrialize brings fear, it sounds like they are loosing control, they want that control, they want to be in charge, they cant hand over power to the people.

And like many African leaders in power, they want to keep themselves in power despite the fact that times have changed.

In Nigeria, there was a drastic measure of banning crypto platforms from making use of nigerian banks and up till date it is illigal to trade in crypto and cash out with your local bank, your account will get frozen.

In a despirate move to give us a substitute, they lunched the eNaira, honestly, we have fintech giants in Nigeria 🇳🇬 the CBN could patner with and pay in their eNira, but they choose to use a foreign tech company and paid in dollars to make the eNaira, what an irony!

Back to my question, why are CBN's afraid in your country, if they are not, is there a way to help our banks underatand that they could paterner and build a better financial ecosystem if they come onboard the blockchain ship?
