Child Adoption Procedures
Many cases of child adoption are only equipped with a notary's certificate. In fact, there are a series of procedures that prospective adoptive parents must go through to obtain legal adoption.
The first step is to submit an application for child adoption through the social services office. Next, the application file will be submitted to the official foundation appointed by the government, namely the mother's wing foundation. So, they go to the house and see, "Oh, before the baby was there, what was there?" This visit aims to test the eligibility of prospective adoptive parents. There are several things that will be checked. Starting from economic conditions, social conditions, mental conditions, to acceptance by the family environment. After passing the initial document check, prospective parents and adopted children are given the opportunity. They can get to know each other and interact, but are still under the supervision of the office and foundation. This process lasts for approximately 6 months. Later, an official from the office will come and say, "Oh, this is being cared for at home." The foundation team is there, the service is there, the baby is brought home. Then it will be submitted to the PIPA team. The PIPA team is the Child Adoption Permit Granting Team. So it consists of related agencies. So in the PIPA team there are people from the Police, Religion, various, all the documents that are there will be checked. If it's okay, then the foundation will take care of it in court.
After going through this stage, the prospective adoptive parents will undergo a trial process. Armed with a letter of recommendation and witnesses from the foundation, as well as the social service. If the application is approved, the prospective adoptive parents will receive a court ruling that shows the status of the adopted child legally.
In practice, prospective adoptive parents must also understand several obligations in adopting a child.
