Benefits of Waking Up Early in the Morning
So, morning can be the right momentum to express gratitude to Allah SWT, because with His grace, we are still given the opportunity to live in this world. When in the morning, many people are lazy to get up from their beds, for example, many immediately check their cellphones when they wake up, or even decide to sleep again and wake up later. In fact, when we wake up, there are actually many activities that we can do to get rewards.
This morning I want to provide information about 6 things that the Prophet Muhammad always did every time he woke up. In addition to being a form of worship, it can also certainly make the body healthy. So what did the Prophet Muhammad SAW do when he woke up in the morning? Here it is.
First, he wiped his face with his hands. Yes, the first thing we must follow from the Prophet when he wakes up in the morning is to wipe our faces with our hands. The goal is to eliminate our drowsiness. As told by Ibn Abbas Radiahu Anhu.
Then when it was mid night, Rasulullah sallaahu 'alaihi wasallam got up, then he sat down. Then wiped the marks of sleepiness that were on his face with his hands. (HR. Ahmad) Then the second sunnah is to read the prayer when you wake up from sleep. Reading prayers is a practice that is recommended in Islam before or after doing something. Reading prayer after waking up also indicates that we are always grateful to Allah SWT, for the blessings of the world that are given to us. Come on, this morning have you read the wake up prayer yet? If you haven't yet, let's read it together.
Alhamdulillahillazi ahyana ba'dana walillahi iza Which means, all praise to Allah SWT who gave me life and put me to death, and to Him we will be returned.
Then the third is reading the last 10 verses of Surah Ali Imran, to be precise starting from the following verse.
innafilkhauskis samawati wal arzi wahdila fiillaili wannahari la ayya til fil alba Which means, verily in the creation of heaven and earth, and the alternation of night and day there are signs for people who understand. (QS. Ali-Imran verse 190) The next sunnah that the Rasulullah did when waking up was siwak. Siwak is the name for a piece of wood that is used for brushing teeth. If in today's era, bersiwak means brushing, cleaning teeth using a toothbrush in general. The aim is of course to clean teeth and remove dirt on teeth, as well as maintaining oral hygiene, as written in the histories of Bukhari and Muslim.
When waking up from sleep at night, Rasulullah Shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam, brushed his teeth with siwak (HR. Bukhari and Muslim)
The fifth sunnah is to clean the nose. The way to do this is to put water into the nose by sucking it, or bb istinsya', and then release it or istinsar. After waking up, we are advised to do this 3 times, to clean our nasal cavity, because when humans sleep, the devil stays in their nostrils. As told in the following hadith.
When you wake up, then clean your nose three times, because the devil spends the night in the nasal cavity.
(Narrated by Bukhari and Muslim)
And the last sunnah is to wash both hands three times. This is in accordance with the words of the Messenger of Allah Shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam.
When you wake up, then don't dip his hands into the container, before he has washed them 3 times. Because he doesn't know where his hands were last night. (HR. Bukhari and Muslim) Those are the 6 sunnah of Rasulullah sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam, which we must imitate when we wake up. Usually when the Rasulullah woke up from his sleep, he continued by reading verses from the holy Koran, and praising the greatness of Allah SWT.
The life of the Messenger of Allah, sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam, has proven that every practice that is carried out in a day and night is a form of worship. For that, it is appropriate for us as servants of Allah SWT, to obey His commands and follow the recommendations of Rasulullah Sallallahu 'alaihi wasallam. That way, we hope that we will always be under the protection of Allah SWT.
Greetings always compact.
