I'm very excited to participate in the contest 'Advertisement' as this is my fifth post in Steem4Bloggers community. As per the rules of the contest I request my fellow Steemians @ikwal @viajarparasanar @walictd also to perticipate.

Skimpflation is a process by which company will cope with the inflation without changing the price of the product. They either compromise on quantity or quality. So company continue profitability inspite of unchanging price in inflation. For example iPhone has stopped giving accessories like headphones.

A glass or bottle (190ml) of Coca-Cola was set at five cents, or one nickel, and remained fixed Between 1886 and 1959. It was possible due to low inflation and very limited advertisement cost.

I remember in my childhood a bottle (200ml) of cocacola was ₹0.25 (25 paise) in 1970 which costs now Rs. 16 that's 64 times. I think logistics and supply chain must have improved enough to offset the cost by 20%. So considering the old glass bottle and similar those days logistics the price would have been even more. Moreover the large volume of consumption also reduce price due to economy of scale.

Probably the main contributor of price hike is due high cost of advertisement and marketing expanses.

On the other hand, one of the most expensive device I bought was ICD (implantable defibrillator). I never heard of Medtronic, the company or seen their advertisement in any time of life.

Amazon makes an average margin of 30% on a book sold at their site. If one customer searches a book on Amazon, it will chase the person with the banner display of the book, every where the person visits like social media or email surver. It is a passive advertisement of the book though Amazon nighter sale it nor published it. This is how cost of a product unnecessarily hiked in the name of marketing.

I sincerely want a regulatory authority to control the advertisement expenditure of the company. If required advertisement should come under consumer protection act as all advertisement costs ultimately born by consumers.
