Here we are in the 4th week of Steem4Blogger's topic dear Steemians. It is all about sharing what we have for communication, including our mobile and computing devices. Here I will explain what I use for work, keeping in touch with family and friends, and for entertainment purpose as well as how I use them for my other purposes in normal life.

I am from older generation 😄 and recall the days when the only means of communication was a very expensive landline phone. The out of circle price of the calling service was so high that we used to disconnect within 30 seconds because the pulse rate was @30 seconds. Now, there is no limit on any number of calls and any duration at no cost. We can stay in contact 24x7 as it is all included in our plans.

I am glad you asked and provided me with the opportunity to tell you about my gadgets in this post. I have a phone, an iPad and a laptop, but I use only two of these personally and only one for posting on steemit. Although I check posts on my phone too, I am not comfortable working on writing long posts on my phone, so I use my phone for social media sites like Twitter, etc.

Share with us the company and model of your mobile phone including the price and how long you have been using this mobile phone?

You have asked to share details of my mobile phone manufacturer, service provider company, and model of my phone, including price and how long I have been using this mobile phone.

Check the details of my mobile phone in this screenshot.

Let me tell you about my phone, it's a Samsung M12 that I bought last year, about the same time when I dropped my iPhone. I wanted to buy a cheaper phone because the introduction of 5G was in the air and I wanted to switch from 4G to 5G as soon it came and that was not possible with Samsung M12.

Screenshot from my phone

However, I will change my present phone within the next two months as we have news that our mobile phone companies are about to commence 5G services within a month or so.

Right now, I am using Airtel and JIO services on my phone, although we have a couple of other providers like BSNL and Vodaphone-Idea too. But I use Airtel and JIO. I am getting 1GB of data/day from each of these and unlimited talk time to all networks with my current plans. Let me add here that our phone plans are the cheapest in the world. I pay approximately $2.5 per month each ($5 for both) for my phone plans.

Here you can see the details of my current phone, a Samsung M12, which comes in a cheaper phone category at about $130 but I bought this model because I knew that I would have to buy another one that would be compatible with 5G services.

Are you satisfied with the working system of this mobile phone or you want to change it?Share your preferred device with us.

I am not happy with it because it's too heavy, but I will soon get rid of it and probably replace it with a better model from the same company.

My next phone will be a Samsung Galaxy S20 FE 5G (Cloud Mint, 8GB RAM, 128GB storage), which will cost around $400. This phone has Android 11.0 with 5G cellular technology. I have almost made up my mind because it is perfectly compatible with both my cellular services, JIO and Airtel.

Which device do you use for blogging on Steemit? A computer or a mobile phone or both? Please share with us.

I use my laptop for pretty much everything, especially publishing. I use almost all the features that come with Microsoft and Google, but MS is my favorite hence the laptop. Or maybe I belong to the older generation that loves the bigger keays, which make my life easier. My activities on Steemit through my phone are limited to browsing and reading only. I am glad you did not include the iPad, but I have one which is connected with WiFi and used rarely.

Here is my most used gadget, my laptop especially for posting in steemit

It's a Lenovo Ideapad C340 14-inch FHD 2 in 1 Convertible Laptop, 10th Gen/Windows 10 that I bought in December 2020 while in Australia for AU$ 900 (US$650 when I bought it).

It came with Windows 10, but I upgraded it to Windows 11. My laptop has a touch screen, but I rarely use it because I mostly use the keypad and mouse.

I use JIO Fiber Broadband service with 100 MBPS download and upload speed, but it goes down at prime time, as you can see in the screenshot.

I can run my TV easily with this speed and I have a landline phone that comes for free with my broadband provider with unlimited talk time.

How many telecommunication service providers (Sim Networks) are present at your country? Which of this providers is best in connecting to the internet using your device?

I really don't know how many services exist in my country because we have a large number of them, but I know about four in my area. The first of them all is BSNL, a semi-government company, but it has lost its value and customer base despite being the mother company of all the companies in our country. BSNL is the one that sells spectrum to all other private players.

BSNL was the only mobile phone service provider until the year 2000, and used to have a 3–4 year waiting period when landline was the only means of communication. However, since private players entered the market and began offering lower-cost plans and faster speeds to customers, the BSNL has lost value and customers.

I have ported both my SIM to Airtel and JIO and I am happy I did.

What is the importance of your mobile phone in your daily life?

You can say my phone is pretty much a part of my life as I use it to keep in touch with different groups on telegram, discord, and WhatsApp, although I have them on my laptop too. I use almost all the apps, including social media, wallets, bank apps, and shopping online. In fact, I have lost count of the number of apps on my phone, which include health, insurance, banks, social media, wallets, galleries, editing, etc. In fact, I just counted them when writing this post. I have 132 apps on my phone and am still counting.

I have an iPad 16 GB WiFi model too that I bought years ago but it has lost its importance so I use it rarely. I use it mostly for gaming and social media but nothing creative.

I invite @emaidoreyin @amoakabraham and @princegbekei to participate in THIS CONTEST
