Hello Steemians, I happily welcome you to this week and last day in 2023. I would be sharing my contribution on this interesting contest immediately. I applaud @abdullahw2 for this great contest I would be dropping my participation immediately.

What are the social evils that are spreading in your society

Our society has been infiltrated with corruption as the days go by. Everyone is adopting corrupt practices which is heightening as everyday comes. I would be sharing some social evils in my society today.

• Cyber Crime:
It is too priority in my country, young ones are dedicated to performing dubious criminal activities using the internet and the digital space in general. The activity was minimal prior to now, but these days it has skyrocketed. Everyone wants to be a cyber criminal. I am very disappointed about it and would love due action to be taken to stop the social evil.

• Bribery & Corruption:
This is a critical issue which affects the nation today, everyone into politics wants to rob the national treasury! They do these to enrich their purse and destroy the economy of our nation. There have been cases where money as laundered and they political criminals attributed it to monkeys and snakes which stole the money. Such wicked social evil is so bad and needs to be stopped.

• Electoral Malpractice:
There has been electoral malpractice in our country today. The electoral body of our society in my country has been compromised! The leadership in the last election conducted invited political thugs which tried to snatch the ballot boxes, this was not enough the judiciary was threatened by the same political spear head to announce him the winner. It was a rumor and the political spear head is now our president. This is a leading issue and should be dealt with by international bodies too.

• Pyramid and Ponzi Schemes:
These are wicked social vices adopted in the country today where different individuals come together open a platform, giving it a sumptuous name invite people to join and refer others to scale their way up the pyramid. A price tag is attached to the platform, when the money increase they Rob Peter to pay Paul On the long run they close the platform and do away with the spoil recovered. It is a deadly scheme and should be stopped as a social evil.

What are the reasons for it's spread

There are various reasons for these social evil infiltrating our society rapidly like wild fire and I guess I'll be sharing some of them with us today, I hope you enjoy my article too.

Hardship & Poverty

The hardship in the country is worsening and getting more intense, it's skyrocketing and poor people are getting more desperate to leave the trenches. The richer gets richer and the poorer suffer in solitude. The quest to get rich quick is what drives these people asides the poverty in their lives. They tend to soil their hands and sell their souls through joining these social evils making this a major reason for the spread of this wicked act.

Envy and Jealousy

This is a major problem in the country today, many young ones get jealous when they see their friends into these social vices that are success which makes them feel they can also do it. To get rich they device means of acting up to be rich through joining cyber crimes to earn recommendation and fufil their jealous desires to be better than other.

Peer Pressure

This is a major problem in the country today, young millionaire emerge through these cyber crimes, intimidating their peers which makes their peers want to impress their friends by joining these social evils to belong where their peers are and also making them feel successful as their friends are. Peer pressure remains a major reason for most social evil today.

What are the effect on society and people

It has adverse effect on the society and the people I would love to be sharing a handsome few with us too, sit tight and enjoy.

• Effect of social evil on society and people is that most people who follow the route ofcl cyber crime gets apprehended by security officials and loose their rest, peace and freedom too.

• The society gets worse as the rate of crime increases leading to high security insurgency cases, causing the economy to deteriorate as people perform criminal activities and force government to spend more on security and importing ammunition to fight social evil instead of improving other sectors of the economy.

• Most young people on the verge of joining this social evil gets killed, thus loosing their lives due to bad social evil with they adventure into, bringing reproach and shame to their families and the society at large, it's a major effect on the people and the society.

• The poor gets poorer because they strife to raise funds to get out of their poverty, yet no results, because the Ponzi scheme eats away their suffering and make them remain stagnant for a while, this could lead to their death in extreme cases thus increasing the poverty rate in the society.

How can this evil be eliminated from your society? Share some tips with us

These evil can be eliminated through various ways which could be thus;

Employment Opportunities

If the government can provide more employment opportunities for these youth, I guess they would leave cyber crime and other social vices and focus solely on the work which would be provided for them too, giving them financial freedom and opening a hope for a future for them.

Empowerment Scheme

If the government can empower the poor masses with skills and tools for survival the rate at which social vices increase would be regulated yielding a better home for the society and providing sustainable development in the nation while growing the wealth of the populace. This would indeed wade off the rate of social evil in the society.

Education & Enlightenment

Seminars and workshop teaching families, parents and young ones various ways of making high income through various skills would always distract them from social evil. An idle man is the devil's workshop, therefore if their mind is occupied with good values and skilled technique on how to make good income they would say no to social evil and end up being rich and wealthy on their own.

Social evil is dangerous and should be stopped. The earlier we see the need to tackle it and end the criminal offense through providing watch dogs to wade the social evil the better our economy would become, preserving a greater generation of great social competence and value.
