Contest Alert! Fasting in Ramadan By @Akareen
Hi dear steemians
Good evening everyone, I hope everyone is fine? If that so Alhamdulillahi, I am very happy to see this kind of contest in this community organised by @steemdoctor1, in this contest we are going to share meaningful knowledge about Ramadan. Every Muslim is expected to fast during this month because is a month where Muslims move closer to his creator.
Ramadan is the sacred month where every Muslims must abstain from eating, drinking, sexual intercourse, gossiping and all other kind of illicit act. Ramadan is the only month where Almighty Allah answer our prayer.
Qu'rian says:
O you who have believed, decreed upon you is fasting as it was decreed upon those before you that you may become righteous" -- Surat Al-Baqarah 2:183.
Ramadan as a lot of health benefits for Muslim ummah because in that period Muslim will be afraid of Almighty Allah. So these are the health benefit of fasting in Ramadan
• Majority of Muslim quit smoking which is dangerous to our health, smoking cigarette causes different kind of disease in our body which include cancer, lung disease, stroke etc. As far as Muslim abstain from taken cigarette during this Ramadan period their health will be fit and restored to normal life.
• Eating dates fruit, Ramadan as a lot of health benefit, because dates is one of the perfect food that boost our immune system. Dates consist of potassium, magnesium and that's why most peoples prefer eating dates fruit throughout the Ramadan period.
• Ramadan also prevent us from obesity which is very harmful to our health, in that period peoples will be abstain from eat too much food especially during iftar. Eating less food during this period will keep your body weight strong and fit.
• Improve our brain system, during this period our brain will be stress free because every Muslim will keep themself
busy reading Quri'an. As a matter of fact this will help us to be always happy because it is time where Muslim move closer to his lord.
Billions of people all over the world fast during this period because is the holy month where Muslim keep themself busy engage in some halal stuff, so these are the common misconception in fasting during the month of Ramadan.
• Some peoples think that Ramadan is only abstain from eating and drinking, I disagree with this statement, Every Muslim world wide must also run away from adultery, backbiting and others bad behaviour that can spoil our fasting. As a result of that Muslim must not partake in this activities.
• Another misconception is that some Muslim belief that every one is expected to fast. Which is totally "wrong" Islam permitted those who are Physically and mentally fit to fast during this period. We cannot expect those who have mental disorder to fast because they do not know what they are doing. Peoples who are travelling, sick, menstruating women cannot fast, they can fast in some other time.
• Finally, brushing your teeth with stick cannot spoil your fasting. Even if you mistakenly swallow it your Ramadan is still valid.
My favorite food for sehar is Amala and Egusi soup, is a Nigeria food which is favorite food of many Yoruba tribe (southwest). The reason why I like this food is that it give me energy through out the day and it also have carbohydrate.
My food for Iftar is rice and beans, I normally take this food after I break my fast with dates. After that I will eat my normal food which is rice and beans. I value this food most because it give me a sense of belonging.
Tips to maintain our mental and physical health in Ramadan period include the following:
We must physically fit during Ramadan period by exercising our body at least twice in a day in order to avoid fatigue and others thing that will affect us through out Ramadan period. Jogging around our immediate environment will assist our body and mind to be physically fit.
The person who is fasting should take a rest so that his or her mind can be relax and in that time they can engage themself in something meaningful such as recitation of Al-Qurian. They should also interact with their family and friends because through interaction something meaningful may come out from that.
Finally, they should be always be a positive thinker, this is the period where practising Muslim have been waiting for because is a time where everyone is happy.
Ramadan is one of the five pillars of Islam, which Allah make it compulsory for every Muslim to fast during this holy month. Muslims always happy when they see this month because it is time to move closer to Almighty Allah. I invite @max-pro, @mukka and @azmat545 to join me in this contest.

Desconocía tantas cosas sobre el Ramadán, la verdad es que escuchaba muchas cosas, pero no todo es lo que parece ni lo que se oye.
Gracias por aclarar mi mente y orientarme sobre los beneficios del mismo.
