Madagascar Periwinkle Flower
Madagascar Periwinkle is a plant known for its reddish-pink, five-petalled flowers. Its scientific name is Catharanthus roseus. It is also known by different names in different places, such as Cape periwinkle, Madagascar periwinkle, periwinkle, sadabahar, sadaphuli, sadasuhagi, sadsuhagan, etc. Another species is Vinca rosea. It is known that its original place of origin was Madagascar.
Madagascar Periwinkle is a West Indies species. 60–80 cm high. Their stems are purple in colour. Their leaves are oblong, oval at the base, 4–7 cm long, and smooth. These plants bloom almost throughout the year. However, the growth of this tree is relatively reduced during the winter. Not a flower blooms. Flowers become smaller in size. But at the end of winter, its growth becomes normal. The flowers are white or pink in colour; the whole flower is monochromatic, but the centre of the flower is also of another colour. For example, red among white and yellow among pink. The flower is odorless. I'm going to share some photos with my Steemian friends. I hope you will be happy after see the photos.
